🤝 In a mediated sales environment - such as the OEM-dealer-end customer model in #outdoorrecreation and #commercialvehicles - the way to win is to create an environment in which the OEM and the dealer have an understanding of how each provides value to the end customer. "Partner" is a word tossed around way too often in business, but for this model to work you have to move past the typical OEM/Dealer relationship. In Element Three's latest Distributed newsletter, John Gough goes deep on what it takes to create value for both ends of this relationship. A few takeaways: 1. Defined Roles = Amplified Results: OEMs and Dealers need defined roles in this model. If no one defines them, everyone is uncertain about who owns what, and toes get stomped on. Get clear on who owns what, and your results will improve measurably. 2. Create Efficient Advertising: That ownership mentioned above turns into cost-savings and increased efficiency when it happens in your advertising programs. OEMs own national brand awareness and affinity. Dealers own local experiences. 3. Embrace the Handoff: You lose all the benefit of clear roles and clear owners if you can't hand the lead off effectively.
