VINTAGE WATCH ROOM LONDON’s Post

It’s Friday …. Yay ! Thought we’d do something military today. No matter what anyone says we believe the A11 watch manufactured jointly in WW2 by Waltham, Elgin & Bulova was the first what has now become known as a Field Watch. However there were a number of iterations of the A11, so you will find A11s in the European Theatre with both the USAAF and a variation with the RAF, the model, shown here is rarer as it’s a FSSC-88-W-800 which denotes a US Navy pilots watch. As most of the war with Japan involved infantry and the US Navy and was fought in the Pacific over large stretches of water and small Islands so most US Navy pilots operated from Flat Top Aircraft Carriers or were based at Pearl Harbour. If only watches could talk this could tell a story we’re sure ! Have a great weekend ! ⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #elginwatches #elginwatch #usnavywatch #a11watch #ww2watch #ww2watch #militaryhistory #vintagemilitarywatch #vintagemilitarywatches #militarywatches #vintagemilitarywatch #militarywatchesonline #vintagemilitarywatches #militarywatch #militarywatchcollector #militarywatchforsale #vintagemilitarywatches #watchaddict #watchcollector #watches #watchesofinsta #watchesofinstagram #watchgeek #watchmania #watchnerd #watchoftheday #wristporn #wristwatch #wristwatchreview
