A welder is a skilled tradesman who joins metal parts into complex structures using electric or gas welding. Welding is the process of melting metals under the influence of an electric current or gas flame and merging them into one whole. A welder can work with different types of metals and alloys, such as steel, aluminum, copper, titanium and others. The welder performs important and responsible work, on which the quality and reliability of products, components and structures depends. The welder must be able to read drawings and diagrams, select the correct welding mode, control the temperature and welding speed, and ensure that the weld pool is protected from oxidation and contamination. The welder must also follow safety precautions to protect against burns, cuts, electric shocks, and hazardous substances 🚧👷🏗️ #welderlife #welders #tradesman

To my connections. Do or should, orbital welders that complete orbital welding courses, that don’t have a plumbers, fitters or pipe fitters background get the full trade rate? I am not looking or an argument. I’m interested to see what people think of it. If I was hiring an orbital welder, I would try look for a qualified pipe fitter/ plumber/ fitter, who can tig weld a stainless support and has completed the orbital course. I would recommend giving them an extra few euro on the rate for doing the welding and they would also look after pipe install, supports and slope checking. They could do this with a general operative, who would do the running around for them. Should orbital welders with no trade just get general operative rate like all machine operators? Is orbital welding a trade? If you are an orbital welder and can’t tig weld a stainless steel support, are you any real advantage to a high purity team?
