🎬 Lights, camera, action! 🍿 Step into the high-stakes world of sales with a nod to the legendary Mad Men series. As we dive into one of my favorite scenes, remember, there's always a lesson to be learned, even in the glitz and glamor of New York advertising. Inspired by real-life ad man Draper "Dan" Daniels, the fictional Don Draper reminds us that every sales meeting is a Game of Frames. Watch closely as the battle for control unfolds—because in sales, the one who sets the frame controls the discussion. But here's the real twist: Fear is the villain holding you back from closing more deals. It stems from a lack of confidence, which can only be overcome by investing in yourself. Clients are hiring you to give them advice, so tell them what to do. Don’t equivocate. Don't back down. Don't be nervous. Tell them what you and your firm would advise. That's what they want—clear guidance. It's fine to present options if you like, but advocate for one option. Take a position, and watch as your sales soar. So, are you ready to rewrite the script of your sales success? Let's channel our inner Draper and seize control of every frame. It's time to shine on the sales stage! 💼🌟 #SalesSuccess #MadMen #GameofFrames #SeizeControl

Great Sales People are like Great Actors The Good Actors might have a Single Standout Performance that gets some buzz, but you probably won't watch it again. However, the truly great ones... They become your binge-worthy favorites. Watched not just once... But with your family, friends, and even revisited year after year, leaving you eagerly anticipating their next big role... Just like a great actor who builds a fanbase over time, successful sales aren't just about closing a deal... They're about building lasting connections... While the good ones might make a quick impression. The truly great ones... They create a fan following, engaging with their audience repeatedly, building relationships that endure beyond the initial transaction. A transactional sale is like an actor who gets cast in a small role but misses out on the opportunity to shine. While they may deliver a decent performance, they fail to leave a lasting impact that would have garnered repeat viewings. Similarly, in sales, a transactional approach represents untapped potential. A missed chance to engage deeply and leave a lasting impression. And therefore the greats come round the second time and don't just win them over but lock them in for life... #thegreats #sales #bingeworthy #win #repeatbusiness #impact

Today marks a day that is giving me all the emotions. My last day at Watershed. It has been a little over 5 years since I first met with David Ells at Honest coffee with the intentions of networking, just having moved to Nashville. This convo grew to the new role that had opened on their sales team. I was pretty sold, but then I got to meet The Bill Conran the following week at Burger Up and that sealed the deal. I then gave a presentation to key Watershredders in the Red Keep on whatever I chose… it was on Stoicism.. cuz why not? I knew I was in for it.. because this was only the first time I felt like the dumbest person in the room. I like to think it wasn’t because I was dumb… but because this team was stupendous. For the next 5 years I got to ride shotgun in the world’s best Learning Analytics Platform, being the tip of the spear in understanding what can be possible within our L&D industry with Learning Analytics. Building use cases across industries. During that time, I got to speak with the largest companies in the world… that was cool. But what was cooler was the people I got to speak with. I guess it’s the nature of the L&D industry, pleasant people, who are out to not only make themselves better, but make as many people around them better. During that time, I was given the arena to grow. To grow without restrictions. Growth from speaking with those massive companies with amazing teams, growth from a team that provided candor, partnered towards solutions, growth from working with partners in the L&D space, meeting with industry experts. And all of these were unfolding in any given week. It was an absolute blessing. So to all my Watershredders from the journey thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you’re someone I’ve spoken with from the industry during that time, thank you! I wish you all the best! Next chapter coming soon!

Hollywood's portrayal of sales often conjures images of "lone wolves" prowling corporate corridors, armed with aggressive tactics and leaving a trail of empty wallets in their wake. This outdated, cutthroat depiction couldn't be further from the reality of a modern sales career, which thrives on collaboration, empathy, and shared success. https://wix.to/wVmbxLy #sales #salecoaching

Hi again! Melissa Bates here 👋 Has anyone else lost their voice from cheering on Team USA? I’m fired up after watching athletes like Katie Ledecky and Simone Biles make history this past week. 🇺🇸 Sales and sports have a lot in common, which is why many athletes are drawn to it. Top sellers and top athletes both know: 1 - Practice makes perfect The best sellers don’t wait until showtime to practice. They record and review their calls, seek feedback from peers and mentors, and constantly work on their skills. Our “Tuesday film review” at OpenPhone is just like an NFL quarterback watching game film. 2 - Teamwork is everything Top sellers share best practices, learn from each other, and challenge the status quo. Instead of always turning to your manager, try asking your peers for advice. At OpenPhone, our “first response” process was built by sharing ideas across our team. 3 - Break down goals Successful sellers, like athletes, break down big goals into manageable tasks. A quarterly quota is like a marathon—26 miles is overwhelming, but 1 mile 26 times feels more doable. By controlling inputs for a short duration, we stay on pace. I might be a little biased, but sales is quite fun when you think of it as a sport. Obligatory photo from my swim days to prove it.

This is the first video in a four-part series on why people might not be buying from you today with James Stapleton. First off, is there a need? Sales isn't just about selling—it's about helping clients realize their needs. Many potential clients don't realize the benefits of your product or service until you guide them. Through thoughtful assessments and critical questions, we help them understand the potential advantages and motivate them to make a decision. It's about creating awareness and fostering motivation for a better decision. #Sales #ValueProposition #GrowSmarter #BrightFran Dominique Main, CFC Joy Provolt Quinten Buck Jacob Reed
