You may have noticed that my name is just one letter away from "Virgin" You are not the only one. I've been called "Virgin" by mistake more times than I can count. Intentionally in my teens (a curious nickname), unintentionally in local newspapers, and even as my official name at a new job (a company announcement fail!). While people often apologize for the mix-up, I've always taken it in stride. There are simply bigger fish to fry (and I see the humor in it). I try to bring this perspective to work. There are plenty of things that could upset me, but most aren't worth the energy. It’s about focusing on what truly matters. I'm not saying to ignore everything, but let's save our energy for the stuff that really counts.

I’ve been called “Cody” too many times to count.

On a different note, as a female named Spencer, a predominantly male name, I get it. I get confused with my husband (his name is Taylor) all the time. I have always found it funny! However, with social media, I can't have him in my profile picture because I get kicked out of the mom groups. 😂

I've gotten Ann, Michelle, Ann-Marie, and every spelling combo possible. I make a game out of it. The time I got all three in a single workday was a pretty fun misnomer "turkey".

Growing up with the name Nikki has been interesting. Most people assume I am saying Micky OR assume Nikki is a nickname. I don't blame them, but it has been a constant theme. I have even considered just going by Nik.
