🚒⚡ Teamwork in Action! On Friday, November 22, Sunflower’s linemen and field personnel teamed up with Garden City Fire Department volunteers to train on emergency procedures following injury or illness. Our staff are trained to act quickly, calmly, and most importantly, to not become a second victim. This exercise simulates a lineman who made contact with a high-voltage power line or has had a medical issue and has been rendered unconscious. Firefighters showcased lifesaving first aid techniques and rescue protocols to ensure swift, effective responses. Why does this matter? 👉 Collaboration and regular training ensure everyone is ready to handle emergencies safely and effectively, protecting our crews and communities.

It’s Firefighter Safety Stand Down Week. Abandoned and condemned structures are high-risk buildings, and they are hazardous to firefighters and communities. Many high-risk buildings are structurally unsound and not safe for any person to enter. Firefighters are at increased risk of injury or death when responding to these types of buildings.
