I can honestly say that protecting your home from flooding should be on the same level as protecting your home with a solid roof. People know they need to get or do both it but opt not too until it’s too late or when they have to. As you do your insurance policy review this year, check your flood zone. If budgeting flood insurance does not fit in your budget, inventory what is on your ground floor to prepare for the worse and hope for the best! Cut and Fill in Flood Zones: Developing in a flood zone requires meticulous planning and expertise. The council will have minimum floor level requirements for the project in the flood zone that you will have to build to. As you can clearly see stormwater pipe is exposed and the cladding is above the natural ground. All that has to be filled with additional soil.
