VHS President and CEO Mark Klyczek was included in an article from Becker's Healthcare, "From AI to Telehealth: 82 Healthcare Leaders Discuss Emerging Trends." Mark says value-based care and top-line revenue growth are the top two trends VHS is following, with multiple value-based care opportunities emerging in Virginia. "Virginia has prioritized value-based care in skilled nursing facilities, which is the best way to reward high-performing organizations and incentivize organizations to improve," he says. "... These types of programs are vital to grow our top-line revenue as expense increases remain sticky and do not show any signs of improving in the short term. Our strategy of top-line revenue growth has significantly mitigated the expense increases and when our expense reduction strategies take hold, our top-line revenue will already be growing and healthy." Value-based care, the use of AI, veterans healthcare, staff recruitment and retention, and telehealth were other trends included in the piece. The leaders, including Mark, will be featured speakers at the Becker's 12th Annual CEO + CFO Roundtable conference in November. President, Kyndryl US | Customer champion | International transformation executive | Innovative problem solver | Builder of diverse high-performing teams
Technology is the backbone of modern healthcare. It has the ability to revolutionize how we care for our loved ones and ourselves. From instant access to medical records for physicians, to telehealth appointments for patients miles away, these innovations are reshaping the global healthcare landscape. However, amid these advancements lie challenges. Clinicians grapple with hours of record-keeping, while caregivers struggle to access critical health data. As leaders in the healthcare sector, we must not lose sight of how technology impacts patients and caregivers alike. Last week, Trent Sanders and several members of our team from across Kyndryl attended #HIMSS34 to talk about this very topic alongside our customer, Care New England. Together, we’re proof of the power of collaboration between healthcare leaders and tech partners to address real-world challenges. Thank you Tomas Gregorio for joining Trent on stage to tell this important story. And our work with Care New England is just one example. Recently, I had the pleasure of sharing more with Healthcare Business Today about how our teams deploy best-in-class IT solutions to enhance the experience of patients and caregivers. (Of course, the technology alone cannot solve these challenges – it requires the collaboration of technology experts, doctors, nurses and other caregivers to bring it to life.) Our work in this field is vital, and with each new development, the benefits for patients and caregivers become clearer. We are not just adapting to change; we are actively shaping a healthcare landscape that promises convenience, accessibility and improved outcomes. Together, we have the potential to redefine healthcare, creating a future where quality care is more accessible than ever before. https://lnkd.in/eUpCh_a5 #TheHeartofProgress

Healthcare transformation is an ongoing debate, balancing incremental progress and radical redesign. Key pain points like workforce shortages, high costs, and poor outcomes drive the need for change. Leaders are leveraging AI and virtual care, but success varies. Some focus on small, cultural changes while others call for a complete system overhaul. Arthur Gianelli, MA, MBA, MPH, FACHE of Mount Sinai Health System argues that technology, like EHRs, has worsened clinician experiences by increasing screen time over patient interaction. He advocates for a return to patient-centered care, with technology used wisely. Experimentation and acceptance of failure are crucial for effective transformation. Sachin H. Jain, MD, MBA, CEO of SCAN Group, believes healthcare has yet to truly transform, criticizing the industry for avoiding tough changes. He calls for eliminating ineffective programs and redefining value-based care, likening AI's potential to the printing press. Jain emphasizes the need for cultural change, involving all stakeholders in meaningful conversations to redefine healthcare’s purpose and improve outcomes. Our team of professionals can assist by implementing AI-driven solutions, optimizing virtual care, and facilitating cultural change within healthcare organizations. We focus on enhancing clinician-patient interactions, eliminating ineffective programs, and redefining value-based care to drive meaningful, sustainable transformation.
