We’ve just deployed additional tanks of submersible HPC hardware to further support Viridien’s continued growth while focusing on energy savings, improved cooling efficiency, increased hardware density and lifespan. This expansion boosts our infrastructure to keep pace with the increasing demand for high-performance computing in our operations. Did you know? Viridien since 2023 runs over 0.5 exaflop of compute power, pushing the boundaries of innovation and performance in the industry. A huge thank you to the entire team for making this possible and continuing to drive excellence in everything we do! unless you are in the know, which SOUNDS bigger: 0.5 exaflops or 500 petaflops or 500 quadrillion calculations per second or just plan old 500,000,000,000,000,000 operations per second. As a comparator, as of October 4, 2023, the age of the universe is approximately 436,117,076,900,000,000 seconds, which is about 13.8 billion years. So Viridien has compute power IN ONE SECOND, that at a rate of 1 operation per second, would take longer than the time that the Universe has existed. Now THAT is a big number! (hopefully I've got my numbers right!)
