Looks like SLG Agency might be getting a new neighbour... In case you missed it, plans for Howells’ impressive 18-storey life science development on the corner of Lever Street and Great Ancoats Street have been approved. The design is pretty incredible, retaining the original facade to create courtyard access at street-level, with the upper levels of the cantilever structure bearing a resemblance to the nearby Express building. There’s a lot happening in Manchester. In fact, this is one of several landmark projects in pipeline for the city (and region), including an enormous innovation and technology park slated for North Manchester - but is the activity enough to make the region’s construction sector excited about 2025? 👍 Glass half full - there’s plenty of work in pipeline to go at, and an improving economic picture 👎 Glass half empty - do we have the labour market to deliver? What will happen to cost?
