It was great to present at yesterday’s Structural Timber Association Ltd conference. Excellently chaired by Andrew Carpenter. The range of talks, case studies and debate at the conference was terrific, and testament to the skills we have across the UK in #structuraltimber. The routemap to #netzero2050 is clear, as is the scale of the challenge. Timber construction has a major role to play in this transition. Not least of which is the forecast for increase in market share that timber frame construction for new UK housing increasing from circa 25% to 40% over the coming transitional years. More home grown timber supply is an important part of this transition through forestry and supply chain projects. The technical resources that designers, suppliers and insurers now have available at their fingertips in the design and construction of innovative new structural timber projects is fantastic, thanks to organisations such as Timber Development UK , Built by Nature , Structural Timber Association Ltd and others. #timefortimber #lowcarbonfuture
