Was THRILLED to wake up today and see our NSA Cybersecurity Collaboration Center DIB Defense team nominated for a @Defensescoop 50 Award in Innovation! https://lnkd.in/eYtQ9fZn For DIB SMBs who haven't heard of our program but may want to participate, let me share some simple facts on the program. NSA’s DIB Defense team established a program that has revolutionized the way the National Security Agency supports DoD contractors. Although when most people think about the DIB, they think of large defense companies with multi-billion dollar budgets/contracts, ~70% of the DIB is comprised of small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMBs). These SMBs, which lack robust resources, are often the target of nation-state actors who are seeking to steal U.S. proprietary information and capabilities to build their own militaries and economies from. To mitigate this threat, NSA’s DIB Defense team worked with DoD CIO to establish a robust program to provide cybersecurity services, infused with NSA’s unique insights and technical expertise, to small businesses. These services help mitigate the top ways actors exploit the DIB by reducing the DIB's attack surface through improved cyber hygiene. Further, these services are provided at no-cost to the small business itself. This not only protects sensitive DoD information that sits on privately owned and managed networks, it protects small businesses and consumers alike – ensuring continued U.S. economic, military, and national security advantage. The differentiator within this program is NSA’s unique insights on nation-state actors, gleaned from both its offensive and defensive missions. Defense contractors have long asked for prioritization from the U.S. Government as they seek to defend their networks and triage a relentless amount of information. Each service is infused with NSA insights and analysis, helping customers prioritize issues for remediation based off known adversary targeting, exploitation, and tactics. Our intent is to be “signal through the noise,” that helps DIB companies find and fix issues PRIOR to compromise.

When it comes to data privacy, the decisions we make matter. We all trust companies to be ethical keepers of our personal data, but some will be better than others. The Pew Research Center found that 81% of US adults said they were concerned about how companies use the data they collect and most believe that they have very little or no control over what companies, or the government, do with it. We need to take proactive steps to protect our information and hold companies accountable for protecting the data they control from compromise. #DataPrivacyWeek
