The pace of change in this market requires more than cutting-edge technology ⏩ it demands solutions that are practical, scalable, and centered on genuine consumer needs. https://lnkd.in/dfantM2R In recent years, we’ve seen impressive advancements in frictionless technologies (like JWO and beyond), especially for grocery and large-format retail. Yet retail innovation isn’t one-size-fits-all. As demand grows for closer-to-consumer formats and labor challenges persist, smaller, unattended, and autonomous solutions have become key drivers of sustainable ROI 💲 . Formats and brands that operate independently in high-traffic, underserved areas create a compelling path forward, particularly for sectors less suited to traditional retail models. 💡 From my perspective, small-format retail, designed to meet consumers where they are, is invaluable in today’s world of convenience and proximity. There’s unique power in smaller footprints that deliver hyper-localized solutions, adding real value by addressing specific community needs. And if you pair that with a well-known brand ⏩ well, that’s the holy grail! 🏆 This approach goes beyond simply deploying technology for technology’s sake. It prioritizes the customer experience, creating tangible solutions for both consumers and operators. The market may be competitive, but there’s a clear path for scalable, autonomous solutions that bring genuine value. Are you building a marketplace? It's one of the most common startup concepts, but are also notoriously difficult to get started. Every marketplace will have it's own dynamics and understanding those early will tell you where to focus your time. Step 1: Roughly have a vision of your marketplace if you are anywhere past a few days of serious thought you are far enough along. If you've been building and have some actual data points, even better. Step 2: Read these 4 essays on marketplace evaluation. Annotate the dynamics of your marketplace throughout. ClickPost, India’s largest #logistics Intelligence platform for online retailers has recently raised $6 million in a Series A funding led by Inflexor Ventures partners and Athera Venture Partners (formerly Inventus India). The round also saw participation from Riverwalk Holdings and an existing investor, Rebright Partners. The company has a slightly different story than most #startups in today’s world because it first achieved profitability in 2019 and has since powered its growth using its own revenues. Over 300 #enterprises across India, North America, APAC, and the Middle East use ClickPost. The company currently #tracks more than 1 million shipments daily, which makes it the largest player in it’s space in India, and is aiming to grow 5x in the next 2 years. ClickPost is a multi-carrier integration and post-purchase experience platform that helps online #retailers use data to improve their shipping experience. The product was launched in 2017 by Naman Vijay and Prashant Gupta, childhood friends who wanted to help upcoming e-commerce companies grow and the company is now 100+ people strong.
