Does every member of your team know your business vision? And know it so well that they could explain it to someone at a BBQ, not just read it when they see it on the wall. If the answer is no, then I'd hazard a guess that the individual team members are dictating the culture in your business. If they are, something tells me they're not hitting the mark on what you want the culture to be. How do you shift this? Come back to your vision. Engage your team with it - talk about it at meetings and in your regular one-on-one catch-ups. Share your story with them (even if you're bored of telling it) so they become emotionally connected to why this business exists in the first place. Because it's culture that gets you to your destination and vision determines that destination. Yesterday I took the incredible opportunity to attend Steven Bartlett’s enlightening talk on business and the lifecycle! His insights were truly eye-opening, especially the reminder to reflect and apply learnings even when we're just starting out in our careers. Bartlett's emphasis on taking risks and focusing on details was profound. One fundamental message that resonated deeply was the importance of laying each brick individually rather than just focusing on the wall we're building, highlighting the significance of attention to detail for long-term success. But what truly stood out was his discussion on developing rare complementary skill stacking and the vital role of a cohesive team in shaping company culture. These insights are pivotal in steering the outcome and success of any business. Steven Bartlett’s inspiring and motivational talk has provided invaluable insights, and I’m excited to reflect on and apply these learnings to fuel my personal and professional growth. #BusinessInsights #CareerGrowth #TeamCulture #StevenBartlett
