FRI-YAY! 😎 And we're about to leave the rational at the office and allow ourselves a little more emotions 🤩 at the weekend (ok, I speak for myself...). 🕵♀️ But is there any separation between the two modes? Okay, that's easy... we know it's not. But did you know that emotions can have a super impact on our decisions (are we really that rational)? And can this be influenced by design? 🤯 So, after this post, I declare the week over 🤪 and everyone is free to go home... (at your own risk, always read the terms and conditions). 😅 #neurodesign #uxdesign #userexperience #uidesign

As designers, our value comes from the skills we've developed, the creativity we bring, and the hard work we put in every day. There may be times when people say they can't meet your rates or expect you to work for less. In these moments, it's important to stay patient and stand firm. It’s easy to feel pressured into lowering your worth, but remember: your work deserves to be valued fairly. By staying true to your skills and experience, you will attract the right opportunities. Ones that recognize your true value. Ganpati bappa maurya 🙏🏻 #DesignCareer #UXDesign #DesignCommunity #ProfessionalGrowth #DesignersJourney #FreelanceLife

As a product designer, this philosophy guides my approach. It's not just about making things look good but ensuring that products are accessible, intuitive, and enjoyable for everyone. Designing with empathy and purpose allows us to create solutions that genuinely improve lives—because, ultimately, technology should make life better and more human. 🌍 #ProductDesign #AccessibilityMatters #InclusiveDesign #Empathy #EmpathyInDesign #TechForGood

Just stumbled upon this insightful excerpt while delving into the timeless gem "About Face" on Interaction Design. 🌟 The key takeaway: A successful product embodies the trifecta of desirability, viability, and buildability. As designers, prioritising these three aspects at the project's outset is pivotal for creating impactful features and projects. #InteractionDesign #AboutFace #DesignWisdom

As yuj approaches its 15th anniversary, I find myself reflecting on the journey that has brought us here. From day one, we made a conscious decision to be a specialized design company, not a generalized one. This wasn’t just a strategic choice—it was a commitment to excellence. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in the allure of offering a bit of everything. But at yuj, we’ve always believed that true differentiation comes from focus. Only a specialized company can create a product that truly stands out—one that resonates with customers on a deeper level. This approach has enabled us to design experiences that aren’t just different—they’re differentiated. Our name, yuj, embodies this philosophy. It means the unification of creativity to craft designs that leave a lasting impact. Every product we’ve crafted, every experience we’ve designed, has been a testament to this belief. We don’t just design for the sake of it—we design to make a difference. And that difference is reflected not just in the user experience, but in the business impact our work delivers. In my next post I will write about my learnings from this journey - with a hope that it will inspire fellow designers to embark on a similar journey… #15YearsOfYUJ #UXDesign #ProductDifferentiation #Specialization #ImpactfulDesign #DesignLeadership

UX Designer | User Researcher | With a passion for creating intuitive and user-friendly digital experiences.
🌟 Day 17 of My UX Journey #30daysofuxchallenge: Diving Into the World of Design Systems Hey LinkedIn community! Today was all about unravelling the mysteries of Design Systems. I spent the day immersed in articles, dissecting what makes a design system more than just a fancy term. 🤓 📚 Learning the Ropes: Understanding design systems is like learning a new language. It’s not just about pretty colours or cool fonts. It’s about creating a unified language for digital products. I explored the nuts and bolts — from typography to UI elements, and everything in between. (Check out my blog!) 🔍 Real-World Analysis: I put my newfound knowledge to the test by analyzing Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines. It’s like stepping into a well-organized universe where every element has its purpose. Their approach to consistent branding and user-friendly design? Absolutely inspiring! 💡 Key Takeaways: Simplicity is Key: A good design system simplifies complex processes. It’s like having a roadmap in the chaotic world of design. Efficiency & Consistency: These systems are a boon for teams. They streamline design processes, making sure everyone’s singing from the same song sheet. Scalability: As businesses grow, so do their products. Design systems make this growth smoother, ensuring that new features blend seamlessly with the old. 🚀 Reflections: This deep dive into design systems has been an eye-opener. It’s not just about making things look good — it’s about creating designs that are scalable, efficient, and, most importantly, user-centric. To my fellow UXers and designers, if you haven’t yet, dive into the world of design systems. It’s a journey worth taking! #uxdesigner #uxdesign #uxresearch #designsystems #digitaldesign #userexperience #designthinking

Helping those that invest in digital experiences get more from their investment(s). Helping those that build digital experiences get more from the journey.
I was recently talking to a client about the significance of design systems and it occurred to me that they agreed with all the easy-to-understand arguments, but failed to grasp the deeper, and transformational, impact that design systems CAN have, but may not achieve unless you foster it. I could wax poetic about what a design system is, but let me focus on the meta transformation potential. A design system manages an entire ecosystem worth of details in a way that drastically enhances collaboration and throughput for designers and front end engineers. But more significant than productivity gains, using a design system CAN lead to elevated conversations and collaboration centering on user psychology and how to enhance value (i.e. innovation). After all, this is the struggle that good front end engineers and designers really want to focus on, but often get bogged down in design details like color codes, fonts and padding. Making a product that impacts your target users positively is richly rewarding on multiple levels (and not just financially for investors). Building better together is fun and fulfilling. #designsystems #productculture #digitaltransformation
