After the incredible feedback we shared with you, from our 2024 expedition, we're thrilled to share that there is another opportunity for you to explore the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Kyrgyz Republic with us, in 2025. For lovers of wild mountain scenery, few places on Earth compare to Kyrgyzstan. The Tien Shan mountains, with peaks soaring higher than the Rockies, Sierra Nevada, Alps, or Andes, offer a stunning backdrop for photographers. Imagine capturing the majestic Khan Tengri at 23,000 feet, vibrant alpine wildflowers, glacier-carved gorges, and the semi-nomadic life of Kyrgyz herders. Kyrgyzstan is just now being recognized as a top travel destination, and we've crafted an exceptional, photography-focused itinerary that combines comfort, exploration, and adventure. From the cosmopolitan capital of Bishkek to the wilds of the Tien Shan, you'll experience the best this extraordinary country has to offer, with opportunities for both landscape and cultural photography. This small-group adventure promises prime light conditions, nighttime photography under clear skies, and close encounters with wildlife such as golden eagles, ibex, and, if we're lucky, snow leopards. Spaces are limited! https://lnkd.in/eyP_avU3 #Kyrgyzstan2025 #AdventurePhotography #ExploreTheWild #Photography #PhotographyCommunity #VisionaryWild

The 19th August is ‘World Photography Day’ - a chance to share our world through one single photograph. I am sitting at the airport of the world’s most northern town, Longyearbyen, Svalbard, which has just recorded its hottest day on record. It was 20degrees Celsius the day I arrived. This is the Arctic - this is the closest town to the North Pole. This is where polar bears live and depend on ice for life. Can you imagine the glacier melt on a 20 degrees day? I’m terrified for the future of these guys…looking into this young guys eyes, it feels like he’s pleading with me. Let’s all promise to do what we can for them, long after the holiday endorphins subside. Thankyou to Aurora expeditions for being great advocates for change and education onboard their polar expeditions. Disclosure: this image was taken with a Canon 800mm zoom and cropped, taken from a distance of more than 300metres #climatechange #polarclimate #conservation #polarbears #saveourwildlife #saveourworld #svalbard #visitsvalbard #aurora #auroraexpeditions #polarbear #savethebears #glacierice #icereceding #icecarving #arctic #savethearctic #expeditions #travelwithpurpose #wildlifeimages #wildlifephotography #polarphotography #worldphotographyday #justoneimage #makeadifference

A new photo every day, a visual conversation. Now in our 12th year. Today, Steve Mason posts. Most days, the sun is hot and the surf a gentle swell that calls to surfers and sunbathers alike. Here is where battle-weary US soldiers used to find peaceful relaxation from their war-torn experiences, in what the locals here refer to as the American War. Nowadays, this beach has a more indigenous name, My Khe, and sits in the shadow of Marble Mountain, lined with towering hotels and beachside golf courses. It's a far cry from even twenty years ago when I first came here and there was nothing but beach. Today, the checkered history is interrupted by a tropical storm rolling ashore. Blackened skies and building waves greet me with a blast of humidity as the now-empty beach faces the approaching weather front. The heavy clouds are an earthly reminder of a distant past where light and dark, life and death, and imperialist dreams were constants so many years ago. #vietnam #Danang #war #beach #surf #China #storm #clouds #conical #history #travel #relaxation

#WorldPhotographyDay Often when I travel, capturing scenes isn’t usually my top priority—unlike the usual rush these days. I’m more of a "soak in the moment" kind of person, savoring the visuals rather than instinctively reaching for the camera. But as I started documenting my journeys, I gradually picked up the habit of snapping pictures. Most of these images stay tucked away on my phone, just for me to revisit later—those nostalgic Google memories, you know? Today, I’m sharing one such gem, my personal favorite. While trekking through the jungles of Namdapha, I noticed one of our porters, with a camera slung on his back, step into just the right light. I instinctively snapped a shot, and when I looked at it, something magical happened. The light filtering through the trees cast an enchanting glow on the forest, creating a frame that felt almost surreal. For a moment, the porter looked like a SWAT commander on a mission, with a rocket launcher on his back, ready to unlock the secrets of a multiverse. I know, my imagination runs wild, but this experience made me realize how a single picture can tell an entire story. I’m still learning the craft, focusing mostly on preserving the beauty I see, but this moment showed me just how powerful photography can be. #photography #photographyday #worldphotographyday #travelforlife #Tourism #AdventureTravel #Travelwithpurpose #travelforever #Traveldiaries #SoloTravel #ExperientialTravel

🌌 **Aurora Australis Captured in the Zambezi Region!** For the lucky ones who woke up early this morning and were left in awe by the unusual sky—yes, that was an aurora australis! This stunning natural phenomenon, the first in the southern hemisphere since 2005, was brilliantly captured by Simone Micheletti , a dedicated member of Africa’s Eden. 📸 Why Zambezi is a Prime Location for Photographic Safaris The Zambezi region, in Namibiaia, is renowned for its exceptional photographic safari opportunities, largely due to its pristine environment. Here's why photographers from around the world are drawn to this breathtaking destination: - Low Light Pollution: The region's minimal artificial lighting is a boon for night photography enthusiasts. It allows for clear, spectacular shots of the night sky, as evidenced by today’s aurora australis. - Secluded and Serene: Unlike more crowded tourist destinations, the Zambezi region offers a tranquil setting. Low visitor volumes ensure a more personal and intimate experience with wildlife and nature. - Rich Biodiversity: Home to a diverse array of wildlife, the area offers unique opportunities to capture images of some of Africa’s most iconic animals in their natural habitats.

Up, Up, Up, Up, Up, Up and Away! Hold on... How High Are We Going Here?!? 😅 White it is true that, yes, I have flown in several hot air balloons over the years, I would by no means consider myself an expert, or even necessarily an aficionado of the experience. I know it’s hard to believe, but some hot air balloon rides can turn downright boring! 😂 Heretofore, my best and most exhilarating ride had been over the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. That certainly wasn’t boring! 😆 However, what I experienced in Cappadocia was even more spectacular, and unlike any balloon ride I have had before— or since. Two things contributed to this: 1. I’d always ballooned in warm, temperate weather, never over snow and ice. 2. Previously, all of my balloon rides had been on clear, sunny days, devoid of any substantial cloud cover. I also think it’s possible that this ride over Cappadocia took us much higher than I’d ever been before (in a balloon, lol 😉), but all of this combined made for a unique and very enchanting experience. The light dusting of snow made everything below us seem surreal, while going in and out of the clouds made me feel like I was a cosmonaut soaring through the atmosphere of another planet. 🪐🪐🪐 🎥 📸 I came well prepared and shot all the footage and still photographs you see here of Cappadocia from both a balloon as well as from the ground, with multiple lenses in tow, and then eventually, also with a DJI drone. 📸🎥 💻To see more of my photography, visit RyanCovingtonStudio.com. 💻 #Turkey #Turkiye #cappadocia #hotairballoons #cappadociahotairballoons #europe #earthoutdoors #escapeandwonder #earthpix #wildernesstones #earthofficial #nomadict #wildernessculture #roamtheplanet #discoverearth #earthfocus #adventure #photography #adventureTravel #adventurephotography #extremetravel #travel #wanderlust #international #landscapephotography #naturephotography #Travelandleisure #worldphotography #canonshooter #canoncamera

Snow moon rising in a cloudy sky. February’s full moon is the smallest of 2024 but is still a beautiful presence in the sky. The moon affects us all to a greater or lesser extent. This full moon signifies a time to look closely at what you truly want for your life. Think about what you are doing, is it just to please others, just to meet their expectations? What is it that you want to do for yourself? Once you can identify what you really need then face the obstacles that are hindering your progress to that goal. There will be a way to work around them if you look carefully. Doing what you love will lift your world. Photography is what I love. Whether I’m outdoors in nature, capturing stunning landscapes or beautiful gardens, or indoors making images of delicious food, if I have a camera in my hand I am in my element. If you have a photography project in mind I’d love to work with you, just drop me a message and let’s discuss your ideas. Maybe I can help you progress to your goal? #lizmitchellphotography #landscapephotography #gardenphotography #foodphotography
