One the key yet most overlooked aspect of interior photography is the editing phase. While most clients are keen on the location photos, if proper attention and skillset is not utilized at the editing, the final output can fail. We know that editing goes hand in hand with the digital age of photography. Therefore, can provide higher value to our clients with greater precision in story telling and bringing out the mood in a place. Interpreting street photography opportunities can be puzzling at times. There are so many elements to focus on: - Composition - Lighting - Subject - Background - Timing Having been a street photographer for more than a decade, I've learned to hone in on a specific few. Here's what I look for: 1. The subtle tension between manmade structures and nature. 2. The unique stories that people's expressions tell. 3. The ever-changing shapes and forms in a cityscape. This approach has worked wonders for me over the years. Little Details, Big Mountain I have photographed that exact mountains dozens of times…I have photographed it from different angles and even from different lakes with very different results every single times. This was a mid afternoon image…I rarely take my camera out of my camera bag in the middle of a day and that is simply because I rarely think that the light is worth it! I simply don’t like when the sun is at it’s highest point in the sky! Or do I? On that specific day, things were very different…there was a lot of atmosphere in Banff! Clouds were hugging the peaks…sun was coming in every couple minutes creating some truly gorgeous contrast. I spotted that composition which had multiple diagonal lines, rich and warm side light and amazing rolling fog patches every where. The power of intimate photography is to be able to spot these kind of small compositions inside of grand scenes like this. Fun fact, I just created a Blog Article about intimate photography!
