Just pushed a small change to our API that will let companies monitor almost in real-time which companies are hiring for certain positions, technologies, or intents. Before you could make calls constantly, but you had to deduplicate jobs on your side. Now with these 2 parameters, you can get jobs that have been found by us exactly within 2 specific timestamps, so you don't have to deduplicate data anymore.

𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗼𝗯𝘀 Background jobs refer to processes that run behind the scenes, separate from the main application workflow. These jobs are typically used for tasks that are time-consuming, can be deferred, or need to run periodically without direct user interaction. 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗷𝗼𝗯𝘀 🎯Scheduled Jobs: run at predefined intervals or specific times, using cron-like scheduling 🎯Asynchronous Jobs: jobs are triggered by specific events but run independently of the main application flow 🎯Batch Jobs: jobs process a large volume of data in chunks. They can be run on demand or scheduled 🎯Daemon Jobs: long-running background processes that often need to be always running to perform tasks as soon as they are required 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 Triggers are the starting point of a background task. 🎯Event-driven: uses a trigger to start the background task 🎯Scheduled-driven: uses a timer to start the background task 𝗔 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 When setting up a background job, it is worth considering the following points: ⭐ How long you expect a certain job to run? Have you got any break points set up if your job exceeds a certain time limit. ⭐ If you are processing sensitive data, what additional safety measures are in place? ⭐ Is the background job obtaining a lock on a certain object during its execution? If that's the case, what happens if another job wants to access the same object? ⭐ If the job fails, does it retry? If it does, how many times does it retry? ⭐ Do interested parties get an alert if a job fails or succeeds? ------------ ♻ Repost if you found this post useful. Are software developers key to our future in business in this dynamic, evolving world of work? My observation is that more and more businesses are using technology in more and more ways as they look to have an edge in an increasingly competitive marketplace. What are your thoughts?
In the midst of a market that appears to be pausing to catch its breath, cautiously anticipating interest rate declines or expecting policy shifts to crystallize. Our team is diligently engaged in connecting and placing exceptional software engineers, adept data specialists, and skilled cloud architects with our varied and vibrant client base. 🛠️💻☁️ We recognize that the key element in any strategic business evolution is the talent within. Hence, we are persistently on the search for professionals who bring not only their expertise but also the zeal to drive our clients toward new summits of success. We are interesting in hearing from more candidates in these areas, if this is you please contact us here or upload your CV to our website: https://lnkd.in/eSYw34a7 To the businesses that are contemplating the impact of these talents, this could very well be the pivotal adjustment you've been considering. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗜 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴? 1️⃣ Client Exposure (SolArch > SWE): SWEs mainly interact within their companies. As a SolArch, I work directly with clients across industries which expands my experience & perspective. 2️⃣ Variety of Work (SolArch > SWE): SWEs often specialize in a language/stack. SolArchs constantly learn about new technologies & solutions to solve diverse client problems. Never gets boring! 3️⃣ Business & Strategy (SolArch > SWE): SWEs mainly focus on technical implementation. SolArchs bridge the gap between business needs and technical realities - you become a strategic advisor. 4️⃣ Travel (SolArch > SWE): While SWEs typically work out of a single office, SolArchs get to travel to client sites, experiencing different cultures and perspectives. 5️⃣ Work-Life Balance (SolArch =/> SWE): Both roles can involve long hours, but the travel in SolArch provides more flexibility compared to being deskbound as a SWE. 6️⃣ Career Growth (SWE >/= SolArch): The career growth opportunities are rewarding for both roles, but elite SWEs at big tech may have an edge. 7️⃣ Total Compensation (SWE > SolArch): Let's be real - top SWEs at big tech earn more. But the SolArch role provides great pay + the other benefits above. Most importantly, its all about leveraging strengths. While I was pretty decent in coding, my interest was in architecting solutions and bridging business/technical domains - areas where the Solutions Architect role allowed me to better leverage my natural strengths and interests. --- Consider a repost if you found this helpful. Senior Cloud & DevOps Engineer | Containerization, Data & Storage, Monitoring, Automation | I help companies smash their technical debt, save hours in developer time through automation and save up to 50% in the cloud.
Here's what I think about measuring experience when hiring. If someone clearly has a background of 10, 20 or even 30 years in technology and you can see a job history of adaptation to the fast pace of the ever growing and changing field of technology then it doesn't matter how much experience someone has in some tool or specific compute platform. Invest in that person. Train them up. Pay them enough to retain them. Give them plenty of time off and freedom to work wherever they want. Help them grow. Build that institutional knowledge so that they become priceless. You're not saving anything by spending months searching for the person with that perfectly aligned skill-set and level of knowledge you need, in that amount of time you could have already gotten started on your projects and had the backup you needed. You need to search for people that 6 months down the line you can't do without, preferably more than one of them so that you have that same high availability you demand from your architecture.
