It’s official…. Women in CX ™ Conference 2024 is happening! Only this year, there are a few plot twists! For the past 2 years we have held our Global Gatherings in London in October. But in consultation with our members, this year we have decided to take the magic of WiCX ‘in-person’ across the pond to Dallas, Texas, so more of our members in North America and LATAM can attend🇺🇸 Usually our annual event is just one 1-day, but on this occasion, we are making it 2-days on the 17th & 18th October to allow for more deeper connections to be made! But the biggest plot twist of all…. The CX community is BORED of traditional conference formats, where the audience sit and listen to speakers on stage all day 🥱 They have told us they want to experience something meaningfully different. So our organising committee (led by Diane Magers) have dared us to be ambitious… This year, for the very first time in CX history, we are going to be making this event an UNConference and employing Open Space Technology (OST). An UnConference means informal exchanges of knowledge, ideas, and experiences among all the fantastic women there, ensuring every voice is heard and valued as we tackle some of the biggest challenges in our industry. OST means the participants choose the topics for discussion and with the help of master facilitators, it’s the attendees who create the conversation and develop thought-leadership. Sounds exciting, right? 😎 But to make all this happen, I need the help of my incredible LinkedIn network. For this 4th edition of the World Clean Up at Quadient, what will be the employee experience? Over the next few days, in most of our offices around the world - from the US to Japan, via Munich, Stratford & Bagneux - hundreds of us will be rolling up our sleeves to remind ourselves just how urgent it is to protect our planet. To my colleagues who have already taken part...: …you're thinking “yet again, but we've been picking up cigarette butts one by one by hand for the last 3 times!”, but on the one hand, our planet still needs to be protected more than ever, and on the other hand, challenges and questions will be on offer to help you raise awareness with Surfrider Foundation Europe (watch out, there will be a quiz!). …have you put aside your organic cotton T-shirt from last year (washed and ironed)? …have you recruited your most reluctant colleagues by highlighting the strong points of the clean-up, such as exercising in squat mode (you have to bend down to pick it up!) or laughing at the discovery of... shall we say... surprising garbage? Wow. I’m still buzzing from the speakers meeting for the We Rise Collective OKC We Rise Conference 2025! I am so very honored to be awarded the Hedy Lamarr Prize 2024 🎉 by the City of Vienna, DigitalCity.Wien and UIV Urban Innovation Vienna!  My deepest thanks to the Vienna Science and Technology Fund (WWTF) for the nomination. I had a fantastic time at the award ceremony yesterday at the Technical Museum Vienna! A big thank you to DigitalCity.Wien for organizing such an amazing event as part of the #DiDays24. This award recognizes female scientists for their outstanding contributions to the field of information technology. While we've made progress in addressing diversity issues, there's still a long road ahead. We need to consider diversity not only in how we work and how we incentivize, but also in whom we include in our research, ensuring that technology benefits as many people as possible. My research focuses on the emerging field of Human Data Interaction. This means I explore how people interact with, experience, and understand data. Why data? Because data act as an interface, a window into how we perceive the world. In my work, I try to make the decisions that happen at every stage of working with data more transparent—from the questions we ask, to how we collect, document, and make data available, all the way to how we analyze, reuse, and communicate about data. My aim is to study how people make sense of data, find ways to explain data and models to diverse audiences and build tools that support these efforts. #womeninscience #hedilamarr

✨Standing at the Bundestag: A Moment of Reflection, Purpose, and Progress✨ Earlier last month, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the SPD Digitalpolitical Evening at the German Bundestag, my second time this year to be in the German Bundestag. The event brought together thought leaders like speaker @Detlef Müller Saskia Esken, SPD Chair, and Renate Nikolay, Deputy Director-General for Communication Networks, Content, and Technology at the European Commission, to discuss the future of technology, leadership, and policy. As I stood at the podium in the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus, I couldn’t help but reflect on how spaces like these—once inaccessible for so many, especially someone like me, —are becoming platforms for bold voices and critical conversations. This experience deeply resonated with my work through 22nd Century Womxn, where our mission is to empower women to take a seat at every table and drive change in key areas like politics, technology, and sustainability. It’s a reminder of why representation matters—not just in presence, but in action. As we look ahead to 2025, I’m reminded of the power of intention and accountability in creating real impact.
