Spring was in full swing this weekend in Dumfries, albeit with a hint of snow on the horizon here in Strathaven. Sunday was a beautiful, sunny day that saw the kids at the Dumfries rugby tournament not just playing heartily but also enjoying picnics on the ground, 'basking' in the mild weather.
🏉 Our P6 boys' team, despite having no substitutes, showcased the spirit of resilience and determination. With just 8 players, and eventually having a P5 step in, they faced the games with a mix of hope and apprehension. Their performance? Outstanding. Winning 2 out of their 3 games, they didn't just play; they embodied commitment, pushing through pain, injury, and fatigue without a backup plan or substitutes, but with immense pride and teamwork.
This experience, beyond the wins, was a testament to growth, confidence, and belief. It highlighted a profound lesson - the challenges we face are often catalysts for growth, pushing us to become the person necessary to achieve our goals.
As we wrap up this quarter, it's a moment to reflect on our own "games" - the successes, the growth, and the preparations for what lies ahead. Remember, the essence of planning isn't the plan itself but the preparation and ability to adapt and grow through the process, as Eisenhower famously said, "...plans are useless, but planning is indispensable."
Ready for the next quarter? Let's embrace our challenges, prepare, and step into our games with the courage to grow and succeed. #GrowthMindset #Teamwork
