The goal of hospice is to offer dignity, comfort, and quality of life, regardless of the length of the experience. As long as patients meet medical eligibility, they can continue receiving hospice care. Learn more about #hospice at housecallproviders.org 📌 #HospiceFacts #HospiceMonth #HAPCM #NPHI
Myth: Hospice care is only available for a limited time. Truth: Patients can continue receiving hospice services as long as they meet medical eligibility criteria, which focuses on their medical condition and ongoing need for care. That means a patient can be recertified for hospice care beyond an original six-month prognosis. This means that hospice care is flexible and adaptable to each patient’s journey, ensuring they receive comfort-focused support for as long as it is needed. Patients and families can be rest assured that their care team will be there to address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs throughout the entire experience. Hospice is about providing dignity, comfort, and quality of life—no matter how long the journey may be. #HospiceCare #PalliativeCare #MythBustingMondays #CareHeroes

10 Ways to Increase Patient Referrals and How Your Digital Presence Can Put Your Agency On Top Google "Hospice Near Me" - dare you. Double dog dares you. Is your agency listed? Where are you? How do families find you? There’s a family right now, sitting in a hospital room. A conversation has been had with a physician and their ill loved one has decided that hospice is the way to spend the last days, weeks, or months of their life. Someone on the caregiving team is providing an information packet to that family regarding the next steps. The packet provided includes the name of a hospice agency or two. If you think the family isn’t typing on their phone researching the recommended agencies in that information packet - you’re wrong. Google, Yelp, digging through the “Sponsored” links. They’re checking out websites and more. A few may be making phone calls and leaving voicemails. New issue of the Hospice Pass now available. Link to subscribe in the comments. 🩺Our team at Anchor Health, LLC is always happy to address myths and misconceptions about hospice care and share accurate information so you and your loved ones can make well-informed decisions. Here’s one that we often come across. Hospice patients spend most of their time lying in a bed, barely conscious. This is not the case. ▫️When a patient is admitted at an appropriate time, hospice care can improve his or her quality of life. Research also suggests that patients enrolled in hospice live on average 29 days longer. ▫️Hospice care is a very high level of care that happens in your home. Research shows that keeping patients in their home environment supports a higher quality of life. ▫️Research has also shown that in cases involving terminally ill patients, three-fourths of family caregivers agree that hospice care is a better choice. Of this group, 69 percent believe that involvement in hospice makes a better impact on the patient’s family as well.
