“Excellence is to do a common thing in an uncommon way.” - Booker T. Washington. This quote reminds us that innovation doesn’t always mean reinventing the wheel. Sometimes, it's about taking everyday tasks and executing them with a unique approach that sets you apart. Studies show that companies prioritizing innovative thinking are 45% more likely to see growth in their market share (Forbes). Innovation fosters curiosity and engagement, leading customers to prefer brands that offer something different. Innovation and Creativity: The Keys to Business Growth In today’s rapidly changing business landscape, innovation and creativity aren’t just buzzwords—they are essential drivers of growth and success. Whether it’s finding new ways to serve customers, optimizing internal processes, or reimagining products, businesses must continually evolve to stay ahead of the competition. During my career, I've witnessed firsthand how embracing creativity can transform a company. For example, at I LEAD MY FUTURE, our focus on development and experimentation allowed us to innovate within the fashion e-commerce space, creating a more engaging and streamlined experience for our customers. This not only boosted our performance but also shaped our brand identity in a competitive market. What I’ve learned is that innovation doesn’t always mean grand, sweeping changes. Sometimes it’s about incremental improvements—refining your approach, embracing new technologies, or encouraging your team to think outside the box. It's about creating a culture where creativity thrives, where everyone feels empowered to contribute new ideas. For any business looking to grow, the formula is simple: Stay curious, remain adaptable, and never stop exploring new possibilities. How does your business foster innovation? I’d love to hear your thoughts! #Innovation #BusinessGrowth #Creativity #Leadership #ContinuousImprovement

When did playing it safe start to pass for creativity? How did embracing the conventional begin to represent original thinking? Why have we started to equate a brand's success with its ability to replicate what other brands are already doing? Remember, true innovation lies in the willingness to take risks, to venture into uncharted territories. It's about daring to be different, not just for the sake of standing out, but to genuinely offer something unique and valuable. That's what we all want, right? Think about the brands, products, and services you really love. Ever wonder where they come from? They frequently originate from those bold enough to defy conventional norms... Remember, innovation and creative breakthroughs aren't just the playground of big companies with big budgets. Change doesn’t need to be massive to make an impact. It starts small, grows incrementally, and it all begins with a commitment to doing things differently. #itsaboutpeople

IMD Executive MBA An optimist, who believes a smile can change the world rather than letting the world change it
🌟 Celebrating the Co-CEO Model: A Journey of Empowerment and Collaboration 🌟 Last week, I had the privilege of witnessing the Co-CEO Model in action at On, thanks to the panel discussion organized by the IMD Alumni Club Zurich Switzerland. It was truly inspiring to learn from this dynamic approach where two leaders come together, leveraging their unique strengths, and propelling the company forward beyond titles and egos. Here’s why I find it so remarkable: 1.- Valuing Each Other’s Strengths: Marc Maurer and Martin Hoffmann, as Co-CEOs, exemplify the power of collaboration, as Marc explained that their combined abilities are greater than the sum of their individual talents. 2.- Culture First: Marc, Noa Perry-Reifer, and the entire team at ON understand that a thriving culture drives success. When leaders prioritize culture, it sets the tone for the entire organization. It’s not just about profits; it’s about creating an environment where everyone can thrive. #Leadership #Collaboration #Inspiration
How to make culture your key competitive advantage in a fast-growing company? Global sportswear brand On has transformed itself over the past decade from a small startup operating out of a church hall into a publicly listed company with more than 2,600 employees. At an alumni event organized by the IMD Alumni Club Zurich Switzerland at On Labs in Zurich, Alyson Meister, PhD, IMD Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behavior, moderated a fascinating discussion with On Co-Chief Executive Marc Maurer and Chief People Officer Noa Perry-Reifer about how they maintained their entrepreneurial spirit during a period of hypergrowth. Takeaways from the panel included: 👟 On’s culture, especially its “Explorer Spirit” – defined by curiosity, a strong entrepreneurial mindset, and a willingness to challenge the status quo – have been crucial for its success. 👟 Recognizing that its initial public offering (IPO) in 2021 could potentially dilute its culture, the executive team proactively thought about how it could preserve its culture across all layers. For example, its new office is designed to encourage collaboration and spark creativity and teams are organized across three floors in “neighborhoods.” 👟 Noa Perry Reifer says they intentionally put the focus on the “why” and the “how” rather than the “what” and measure performance on this. When a result is achieved, they focus on the “how” that got them there e.g. whether there was a collaborative culture in the team. 👟 Rather than viewing the IPO as something that would add bureaucracy and reporting pressure, Co-CEO Marc Maurer said they chose to see reframe it as positive. “We see it as having the privilege to run in a bigger stadium, rather than seeing that as pressure,” he said. 👟 Having a strong purpose helps guide decision making. On’s purpose, “igniting the human spirit though movement”, was instrumental in making the company realize they didn’t want to make a NFT of their shoes because it is misaligned with their mission to spark ideas through movement. #IMDImpact On
