What really makes a good sports photo? Photography itself is defined as “the art, process or job of taking photographs or filming something,” (Oxford) Composition: The composition is important to compose sports action in an artistic way. Good Light: Without proper exposure, you cannot achieve what you have in mind. Playing around with light adds that extra element. Peak Action: Capturing the "peak" capture is describing the height of the action. Detail: Detail is a key part of seeing sports photography as a form of art. Emotion and Reaction: I call this "the feeling of the moment" - celebration, frustration, high and lows of the moment brings all this to the "emotional capture" Conclusion: These five elements are what a photographer should keep in mind + two fundamental ones - concentration and anticipation. Video Producer | Co-founder Two Times Creative, we create videos for high-performance brands | 8+ years in sport | Clients across the AFL, NBA and more
Hello, good morning, here's today's Two Times Creative newsletter, an example of the value that can hit your inbox at 8am every Monday morning. (Slightly shortened because it is early..): How to STAND OUT as a sports photographer. Firstly, get off the damn baseline. (I’ll get into that more below.) Sport photography can be a saturated space, it’s a competitive game out there so how do you stand out? I believe these three things below can help you: 1. Change your location Go where others don’t go, change your angles, get off the baseline. If I know you and I see you shooting a WHOLE game from the same spot on the baseline, just know I’m not happy with you (I’m only half kidding). 2. Shoot through objects Use your environment to enhance your photography. Use people or objects to create a frame in front of you, it’ll help give context and tell the stories of moments you’re capturing. 3. Editing Taking the photo is only half the job, I will live and die by this. We’re spoilt by cameras and equipment these days so it’s getting easier for just about anybody to pick up a camera and start shooting. Learn Adobe Lightroom, put time into it, you’ll be surprised at how big a difference knowing how to edit a photo properly can make to your images. And the best thing about all of the above? It can be applied to all styles of photography! Watch me break this down on YouTube: https://bit.ly/3P68rZV Enjoyed the above? Well... 📖: https://lnkd.in/gxuv3FW6 #photographytips #sportphotography
