Being a social worker myself, I am very happy to be part of a profession that responds to and respects the needs of society's most vulnerable and marginalized members. I salute all you social workers, not only because it's Social Work Appreciation Month, but also because you lead the charge as agents of change, meeting people where they are in tackling their most challenging uncertainties and building coping mechanisms to help them survive, thrive, and overcome challenges. Your dedication and compassion make a profound difference every day. #SocialWorkAppreciation #AgentsOfChange #CompassionInAction"

Happy World Social Work Day! Social work is so much more than an occupation or career; it is a calling. A passion from deep within to not only help an individual or community but to stand by their side as they weather the storm. A calling to comfort a child as they lose the people they call home. A calling to sit beside the sick as they mourn their last few days here on earth. A calling to empower the broken as they face adversity. A calling to advocate for a child when you witness mistreatment. Social work is for the strong-hearted, for the empaths who can't go another day witnessing wrongdoing and choose to take action. The world may seem hopeless at times; it is just a matter of whether or not we choose to look for the beauty. Social work provides an amazing opportunity to mediate, advocate, and fight for justice in all areas of life. You have the opportunity to be a voice for those who have lost theirs. So whether you are a practicing social worker or not, use that innate calling in any area of life: at your job, your church, your family, or in your community. Today and every day, I am grateful for the strong women and men who taught me how to breathe life into this broken world. You are a light in the darkness. Keep doing the work you've been called to do. Fight for change. Be the change. ❤️ #WorldSocialWorkDay #BeTheChange #Empower #Advocate #SocialWork

🌱 My Social Work Journey: From Humble Beginnings to Empowering Change 🌱 Let me take you back to the start... Picture this: A fresh-faced, eager social worker in the UK with a head full of theory and a heart full of hope. 😄 Fast forward 14+ years (and several mistakes, learning curves, and cups of coffee later!), now based in Melbourne, I’ve had the privilege of working with amazing individuals, from young people building resilience to those navigating the complex impacts of trauma, disability, and life's many curveballs. One thing I’ve learned? Mistakes are part of the journey—what matters is how we grow from them. Social work isn’t just a profession; it’s a calling rooted in creativity, compassion, and a relentless drive to help people thrive. Whether working alongside a child to unlock their potential, guiding a young adult toward self-discovery, or supporting families to build stronger connections, my focus has always been the same: empowerment. But don’t be fooled, I didn’t do it alone. It takes a village—and by "village," I mean collaborating with other professionals, learning from lived experiences, and using every creative tool in my (ever-expanding!) social worker toolkit. 🎒 Whether you're a client looking for support, a professional seeking collaboration, or an early-career social worker wondering if you’ll survive your first years (spoiler: you will!), my door is always open. Together, we can make a difference—and maybe even have a laugh along the way. 😅 Here's to healing, growth, and living that good life! 🌿 Lets Reseed 🌱 #SocialWorkJourney #Empowerment #TraumaInformed #CreativeTherapy #GrowthAndHealing #StrengthInCommunity #LearningFromMistakes #MelbourneSocialWork #UKtoMelbourne #InclusiveCare #NDISProvider #MentalHealthMatters #DisabilitySupport #ChildAndYouthTherapy #SocialWorkLife #SupportiveCare #BuildingResilience #CreativeApproaches #EarlyCareerSocialWorkers #PositiveChange #CollaborationMatters #PersonCentredCare
