We've appointed Canada-based mineral processing consultancy Corem to complete processing testwork on samples from the Tardiff deposit at our Nechalacho Rare Earths Project in Northwest Territories, Canada. The work, involving a range of mineralogical and processing tests, aims to optimise the extraction and recovery of REE. The testwork is expected to be completed over the next three months, with the results to be included into the Tardiff Scoping Study, which is on track for completion by the end of CY2024. Managing Director Lisa Riley said: “Appointing Corem to undertake this work to optimise our flowsheet is another important step towards delivering a Scoping Study for Tardiff by the end of 2024. Corem has more than 25 years of expertise in mineral processes and processing and is an expert in this field and we are confident this work will help us determine the best way forward for developing processing capabilities at Tardiff.” Read the full ASX Announcement here: https://lnkd.in/gZzzAbRW #VML #VitalMetals #REE #RareEarths #ASX #ASXnews

ASX: Extensive Leach Testwork Indicates Strong Recoveries throughout the Kennedy Ionic Clay-Hosted #RareEarths Deposit, Queensland. New testwork has been conducted on 53 drill samples taken from within the Kennedy Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate (150Mt @ 1,000ppm TREO ), demonstrating rapid recoveries by desorption of the rare earth elements in the first 30 minutes using an ammonium sulfate (AMSUL) solution in weak acidic conditions at pH4. As the entire Inferred MRE lies within unconsolidated gravel clays from surface, these new leach results provide the opportunity to progress to more definitive bulk sampling, where emphasis can be given to sampling from areas that coincide with high MREE recoveries and grades in order to optimise the results and focus on potential flowsheet development considerations. SQX Resources (ASX:SQX) is currently focussed on exploring gold and copper mineralisation at its Scrub Paddock and Ollenburgs prospects, located in the under-explored Esk Basin in southeast Queensland. Both these assets, near major regional infrastructure and population centres, feature known mineralisation and historical mine workings. At Scrub Paddock, soil sampling and drilling have already confirmed gold and copper mineralisation; with the extent of this mineralisation now being investigated. Ollenburgs hosts potential for a copper-gold porphyry system and features several copper/gold/silver mine workings as well as other signs of prospectivity | Read more: https://lnkd.in/dz96HXv8

We've updated the Mineral Resource Estimate for the Tardiff Upper Zone Deposit, which forms part of our Nechalacho Rare Earths Project, 100km south-east of Yellowknife in Canada’s Northwest Territories. The updated MRE yields a 79% increase in mineral resource tonnes to 213 million tonnes at 1.17% Total Rare Earth Oxides and a 49% increase in total contained rare earth oxides tonnage to 2.48 million tonnes compared to the previous estimate in February 2023. Tardiff saw an increase of 49% in neodymium oxide and praseodymium oxide (NdPr) content. The high-grade mineralisation at Tardiff remains open in multiple directions for future testing and potential resource growth, with more drill results expected in the June quarter. We plan to update the MRE again later in 2024 to incorporate post-2022 drilling results. A scoping study for Tardiff is on track for late 2024, aiming to assess the size and scalability of future production scenarios. Managing Director and CEO Geordie Mark said: “Deposit size and grade matters and Nechalacho’s world-class character is reinforced with our latest MRE for the Tardiff Deposit, which shows its sector impact potential, particularly within a North American perspective, and is highlighted by the substantial increase in contained neodymium-praseodymium oxide, or NdPr, to more than 623,000 tonnes. Extensive silver, copper, lead and zinc mineralisation confirmed with high-grade assay results, up to 87.8g/t Ag from second rock-chip sampling program at the Kempfield NW Mineralised Zone. The Kempfield NW Mineralised Zone is a major mineralisation extension from the Kempfield Deposit which was discovered in March 2024 through surface sampling along strike from Lode 300 Mineralised Block which contains 5.1M oz Ag @ 102 Ag Eq (g/t), totalling 16.2 Moz Silver equivalent resource. Managing Director Mr Pedro Kastellorizos commented: “Further surface assay results have confirmed new mineralised gossans within the Kempfield NW Mineralised Zone. These exciting new zones host the same geology and geochemical signatures as the main mineralisation over the Kempfield Deposit. Based on the defined mineralised dimensions, the strike of the mineralised zones surpasses the existing Kempfield JORC Resource area, elevating Kempfield’s exploration upside. We plan to drill these newly defined mineralised zones in 2024 once all regulatory approvals have been granted to Argent”. Extensive outcropping copper-zinc-silver mineralisation confirmed at our Copperhead Project in Gascoyne Region of Western Australia. High-grade copper and silver assays up to 21.7% Cu, 2.34% Zn, 0.75% Ni, 0.2% Co and 8.86 g/t Ag have been received from a geochemical reconnaissance program completed in November 2023 at the Henry East and Barlee South Prospects. Managing Director, Pedro Kastellorizos, commented: “We are delighted to have further high-grade copper-zinc-silver and results returned from the rock chip sampling reconnaissance program at our Henry East & Barlee South Prospect areas. Observations from the field have been confirmed by these excellent copper assay result and added to the impressive results up to 25.6% Copper at Illirie North Prospect, announced in November 2023. The mineralisation now extends over 5.5km in length from the 2023 geochemical sampling program. To date, the silver and copper grades have been the highest received over the Copperhead Project with the mineralisation structurally controlled over these extensive folded synclines.” Read the full ASX announcement: https://lnkd.in/gUYUfMNd #ARD #copper #zinc #silver #cobalt #

The Killi Resources Limited share price has leapt on the positive signs it has discovered a new epithermal gold system extending from the surface inland from Bundaberg in Queensland. Results from the Kaa target included a very high-grade sample of 238g/t Au, 2.1% Cu & 513g/t Ag from the surface, a return that could be the promising surface outcrop of an underlying system. “It’s not every day you can walk up to an outcrop and have it return ~ 8oz of gold in assay. This very high-grade result coupled with multiple other assay results strongly anomalous for gold and copper extend the system considerably and indicate we are likely looking at a previously unrecognised epithermal system." - Killi CEO Kathryn Cutler #Discovery #Exploration #GoldMining

Compositional zoning can provide valuable information on mineralising processes. Not always is it as clearly visible as in these #weeklyreflections showing an outer rim of magnetite (brown) surrounding a core of chromite (darker grey, few brownish internal reflections) and an intermediate zone. Minor sulphides, including chalcopyrite (yellow) and pyrite (pale yellow) are present in and around the magnetite.
