Vital Arts exists to address the multifaceted challenges that artists face today, but we cannot do it alone. We need your support to continue this critical work. Your donation, whether $5, $50, or $500, helps more artists pay their rent without sacrificing meals. It supports city-wide policies that value artists, provides resources for arts professionals, and fosters mind-changing conversations with stakeholders. Bit by bit, we are building a thriving arts ecosystem. Bit by bit, we are improving conditions for every artist, arts worker, and resident with a system of care and a big-picture approach. Bit by bit, we are creating a world that truly values the arts as vital. https://lnkd.in/gpyYdcjk

Can you help Transformation Theatre reach our goal?
Transformation Theatre is celebrating our 5th year Anniversary! To celebrate we are launching our most ambitious fundraising event to date. In addition to our last two online readings, we will present These Arms of Mine as a full live production at the Bowie Playhouse in Bowie MD in July 2024. First presented as our last in person reading in 2020, producing our first independent production. WE NEED YOUR HELP In order to produce this new and exciting play, we need to raise $50,000. Simply use the QR code to see what amazing gifts we are offering for different levels of support. Thank you to everyone who has worked with us and supported us. We look forward to continuing presenting new plays that are by, for and about underrepresented voices!

Caught red-handed! 🙈 It might feel like peeking behind the curtain or into a diary, but Form 990 is a crucial tool for understanding how nonprofit museums use their funds. Have you checked your museum's 990? 👀 #museumnerd #museumconsultant #nonprofittransparency #museumfinance

Did you know nearly one-third of solo shows in US museums go to artists represented by just five galleries? So why does diversity matter? Diversity is like a breath of fresh air in a stuffy room. It brings new ideas, new perspectives, and new ways of seeing the world. It challenges us to think differently, to question our assumptions, and to open our minds and our hearts to new possibilities. Diversity isn't just good for artists, it's good for all of us. When we embrace diversity in the art world, we're not just enriching our cultural landscape, we're building a more inclusive, more vibrant society for everyone. That's why ODBK matters, that's why your donation and your support are paramount now more than ever. #ODBK #nonprofit #contemporaryart #fyp #donate #diversitymatters #DiversityAndInclusion

Art isn’t a luxury. It’s essential. 𝐖𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 that kids involved in the arts are four times more likely to achieve academic benchmarks. 𝐖𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 that seniors who engage in creative activities see reduced cognitive decline and improved mental well-being. 𝐖𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 that communities with a vibrant and accessible arts scene are more connected and experience a richer quality of life. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲, at Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge we provide arts education to over 30,000 children and adults every year. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 we produce over 26 free public festivals and events annually. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 we support over 400 local artists, ensuring that art is accessible to everyone, because we know the arts aren’t just a luxury—they’re essential. ✨ Learn more about this featured artist at www.carakearns.com ✨ #nonprofit #ArtsForEverybody #Louisiana #communityengagment #socialgood #development #fundraising

Have been working on this show as curator, for the past three months: a #fundraising exhibition of contemporary art, combined with a VIP evening of Modern Masters auction for Doostan Charity. Please walk around in the VR tour and enjoy! And if you would like to visit: 🥂Open evening on Friday, March 15th 6-9pm, at Liliya Gallery in Putney. #charityevent #charitysector #charitysupport #artcollector #artexhibition Thank you to Mark Walmsley FCIM FRSA AGSM for all background support (that you are not even aware of!)

If you can't attend please consider a donation. This 5 years journey needs to come to an end. Family stories need to be told. I am having a fun raiser (yes fun) for my film on the use of force "Resisting" at Tealee May 17, 18 and 19. The flyers are attached. The link will have all of the details as well. https://lnkd.in/g9VxSuMx We would love to see you at one of the events or if you can't make it please consider making a donation. Director donnie l. betts is approaching RESISTING with an unwavering commitment to truth-telling and giving voice to those who have been unseen and oppressed. With a deep understanding of the impact of over-policing as a Black male artist, betts sees this film as an extension of his lifelong dedication to sharing authentic stories that are often overlooked or silenced. In the spirit of accountability, the film ensures the voices of the protagonists and impacted communities are respected and accurately represented. Ultimately, RESISTING aspires to create a transformative and healing experience for audiences. By courageously exposing the failures of the system and inspiring collective action, the documentary aims to contribute to policy change, raise awareness, and foster empathy and understanding. It seeks to ignite a revolution of the human heart, leading to a more just and equitable society, liberated from the grip of over-policing. RESISTING stands as a testament to the power of storytelling and the potential of film to challenge societal norms and catalyze meaningful change. With wide-reaching free and trusted accessibility, public media paired with a planned robust impact campaign would be the perfect home for this film to galvanize audiences. The question is What does or can the future of policing look like?
