Heartfelt gratitude to the Washington University in St. Louis African Student Association for hosting the annual ZINASH event, an incredible opportunity for our immigrant high school students to have college experience. This college tour not only fosters college readiness but also inspires and empowers students to envision themselves at a prestigious institution like Washington University. Your dedication to mentoring and guiding the next generation is truly commendable. We're thrilled to see the full circle of community support! Some of our students who attended this meeting last year have come full circle, returning as Washington University (WASHU) students to generously volunteer and provide college tours for us this year. Their journey inspires us: 1. From attendees to ambassadors 2. From mentees to mentors 3. From aspiring students to accomplished leaders We're proud of their accomplishments and grateful for their dedication to paying it forward. Thank you, Dr. Wilmeta Diallo, admission staff and WASHU ASA students, for sharing your time, expertise, and passion!

Hey, Borough of Manhattan Community College Students! Are you interested in pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree, but don’t know where to start? Read this! As I embark on my final semester at BMCC as a psychology major, I'm excited to share a valuable opportunity with fellow community college students interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Join me in exploring the transformative journey offered by the Kaplan Education Foundation. Read on to discover how KEF can be the key to unlocking your educational dreams. As a KLP scholar, I discovered so many schools that I didn't think were accessible to me, both financially and in terms of opportunity. We hold sessions weekly to assess all aspects of our academic career journey, including writing resumes, interacting on LinkedIn, and sessions with different schools that want students like us–driven and sought after. They also informed me of my strengths in areas I never would have thought about. Their assistance made me aware that housing doesn't have to be an issue, financially or locationally, at schools where I didn't think that was possible. There are so many opportunities out there that wouldn’t have been accessible to me if it weren’t for them. “The Kaplan Leadership Program (KLP) is an extremely competitive leadership development program that provides resources and support to help scholars expand their perspectives and achieve their personal goals. It encourages students to develop the necessary skills to assume leadership roles in their colleges, professions, and communities. KLP Scholars are given academic advice, support, and leadership development opportunities. They are paired with mentors as well as provided with standardized test preparation, ensuring I have all the tools and resources I need to thrive at a selective four-year college or university. The KLP application is due on May 3, 2024. Apply to Become a KLP Scholar page, where you can find contact details of your community college champion for more information. Please share this post with other students, community college advisors, professors, and anyone else who can benefit from this fantastic opportunity! You can contact me if you have any further questions, Sussie Gyamfi, BMCC's very own KLP Champion, or join a KLP Application Office Hours session, held every Wednesday from 1-2pm. https://lnkd.in/ecNEmdtv -Zoom Session Link https://lnkd.in/ej6i8bCZ #BoroughofManhattanCommunityCollege, #BMCC, #BecomeAScholar, #KaplanLeadershipProgram, #DreamBig, #TransferChangesLives, #CommunityCollege, #KLP, #KEF, #KaplanEducationalFoundation,

I am pleased to share the transformative journey I experienced during my international exchange program at the UNCW - University of North Carolina Wilmington, undoubtedly the most enriching five months of my life. Undertaking this exchange with a primary goal of expanding my academic horizons in Economics, I was met with an ideal environment at UNCW. The university's world class campus culture became the backdrop for valuable connections and lifelong friendships. Engaging in cross-cultural dialogues not only broadened my worldview but also offered insights extending far beyond the classroom. Participation in events, projects, or extracurricular activities added an extra layer of depth to my overall experience, fostering personal and intellectual growth. From navigating a new academic system to adapting to a different cultural landscape, each challenge presented an invaluable opportunity for personal and intellectual growth. The ability to embrace change and uncertainty has become a cornerstone of my skill set, positioning me as a more adaptable and resilient professional. My heartfelt gratitude goes to the faculty, staff, and fellow students at UNCW, who made this experience truly memorable. Reflecting on this transformative experience, all the experiences, life lessons, and knowledge gained during my time at UNCW have shaped, above all, the person I have become today. Furthermore, they have profoundly influenced and continue to impact my academic and professional journey. Once again, I express my gratitude to UNCW for allowing me the opportunity to live the American Dream. #UNCW #InternationalExchange #GlobalEducation #AmericanDream #AcademicJourney #PersonalGrowth

Dear IITD Alumni Online Voting starts from 2nd July (7.30pm IST) for #Election_of_7_Exec_Comm (EC) members of #IIT_Delhi_Alumni_Association (IITDAA). The EC is responsible for taking decisions on behalf of 60,000+ #IITD_Alumni. Being an EC Member is a privilege & an opportunity to contribute to IITD Students & Alumni. It offers a great platform to pay back to the #Institute & #Society. I had the honor of being the #President of IIT Delhi Alumni Association for 2 years. Our team, performing at peak, achieved the Best ever results for IITDAA. We truly #Walked_the_Talk – promoted & lived with IITDAA Tagline #Engage_Enrich_Empower We engaged 5,000+ Alumni through networking events, Spl day celebrations, & diverse online/offline programs. Our innovative idea to offer a welcome to freshly minted alumni on #Convocation_Day has resulted into 2,500+ alumni interactions. Our #Benevolent_Fund corpus increased to 50+ Lacs. We can offer immediate help to needy student/staff/alumni. However, there are unfulfilled agenda items for which #I_seek_support_from_Alumni to join the EC. We must provide impetus to sustain the momentum in ongoing initiatives (#Start_up_ecosystem, #Global_Alumni_Connect, #Benevolent_Fund, #CSR projects like #Each_One_Uplift_One). Next, we need to focus on a few specific issues & activities. #Amendment_of_MoA_of_IITDAA Recently, there were controversial interpretations of MoA clauses resulting into impasse & unpleasant discussions. We need clarity & unambiguous interpretations of MoA. For effectiveness, EC members who are #Volunteers need flexibility & decision-making authority to run the Association. Albeit the goal is to offer #Authority_with_Accountability with adequate checks & balances. #IITDAA_Vision_2030 This blue-print will offer continuity of thoughts and direction on already created momentum by the earlier leadership. It will keep the progress on track and help EC members to carry out plans in effective manner. #Expert_Policy_and_Advisory_Groups IITDAA is in enviable position with a large number of #Bureaucrats, successful #Entrepreneurs, #Corporate_Leaders, #Social_activists & #Reformists, #Academicians with global foot-print. Association has amazing depth and reach to create and offer the #think_tanks for the Govt Depts in nearly every area of national importance. #Mentor_EC_members_and_OBs I would be happy to mentor the young brigade in EC and guide them to fulfil their own & the Association’s aspirations. I firmly believe, the most critical inputs in any strategy to build a robust institution is #Competence, #Calibre & #Commitment of its #Leadership. It is our joint responsibility to take IITDAA to its rightful stature within its ecosystem – amongst the Students, the Alumni, the Institute and the Society. I request all alumni to #choose_the_Best_of_the_Contestants. Finally, I got recognized by the United Nations Academic Impact & MCN. Now I'm an alumni. I was selected for this fellowship in 2023 as a fellow, and now I am currently serving as a global admission committee member at MCN. United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. 44,000+ student leaders from 3,300+ campuses across 170+ nations applied to join the Class of 2023. 260+ campuses worldwide (just 9%) in 38 countries were selected to host 4,000+ Millennium Fellows for the Class of 2023. #MillenniumFellowship ⚪ Millennium Fellowship Project: Let Education be for all. One of the most significant problems in our community is quality education. There is wide disparity in education at the primary level and the quality of education is low. So we have decided to work on SDG 4 to improve the quality of education. We are hopeful that we will be able to play a supportive role in achieving equal participation of boys and girls in education and quality of education. https://lnkd.in/geUAJKAi
