Are you familiar with the term 'Nachting'? If not, it's likely that we'll be hearing it frequently in the coming years, so now is a good opportunity to understand the meaning behind this catchy term. The combination of the words Naval and Yachting in the term 'Nachting' represents the merging of two industries that have traditionally been separate – commercial shipping and luxury yachting. The goal is to transfer the luxury and innovations of yachting to the decks of naval ships. The most recent transformation of a 150-meter shipping container exemplifies the ultimate private yachting experience. 'Anthos' represents a pioneering project that has reinvented the industrial vessel with modern minimalism and state-of-the-art features. Oceanco is heading the project in collaboration with design firm Mario Biferali Yacht Design, and they unveiled the results of their partnership at the Monaco Yacht Show S.A.M. 2024. Many yacht owners have stopped and stared through this window... Recently from the boardroom at the Sanlorenzo Yacht shipyard in La Spezia overlooking the shipyard, I imagined the thoughts racing through the mind of a project owner just before signing a contract agreement. Contemporary flybridge schooner SEA EAGLE in charter mode: the ultimate expression of personal freedom. Supersized sailing yachts: an attractive (and possibly even better) alternative to large motoryachts. Supersized sailing yachts offer the same enjoyment but are also much (more) fun while travelling from “A” to “B”. Also, they offer the stimulating experience of seeing the sails hoisted, catching the wind, and the slender bow cutting through the waves to pick up speed. Even those who are not keen on heeling angles, will be pleased to discover that new technologies exist to reduce lateral movement and heeling angle substantially. In addition to the thrill of sailing and the satisfaction of Royal Huisman’s bespoke quality, future owners will also enjoy the “green footprint” and the significant efficiency advantage of free propulsion power (the wind!). Last but not least, “energy-neutral”-mode will prove a much-appreciated feature: spinning the propellers to generate more than sufficient electrical power for all board systems, and for re-charging the batteries to enjoy “silent mode” while at anchor. VIDEO 📽️ Turkey-based yacht builder Numarine Yachts started off building performance planing boats, before repositioning itself as a builder of displacement explorer yachts. The newest yacht in its fleet, the Numarine 30XP made her debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024, filling the gap in the ever-expanding XP series.
