You know what they say, "hindsight is always 20/20." One way that we can commit to making the world a better place is by passing down words of wisdom to the younger generations. Sharing the things we now know, that we wish we knew then. This is especially true for members of the LGBTQ+ community who have gained valuable lessons to help empower others who might be in their very same shoes. Plus, it's always inspiring to reflect on how far one has come. And these perspectives are just that...incredibly inspiring. We asked Vitans from our LGBTQ+ community if they could go back in time and tell their 13 year old self one thing, what would it be? #Pride #LGBTQIA #RepresentationMatters

Happy Pride Month, everyone. 🏳️🌈 In the last decade, we've seen amazing strides for the LGBTQ+ community. However, we've also seen a lot more divisiveness, contention, and even hate directed toward them, too. With more visibility often comes more vulnerability, which is why it's so important that businesses have practices in place to not only support members of the LGBTQ+ community but also protect them. You can definitely consider me in the 59% of Americans who believe we should devote resources to protecting LGBTQ+ rights. Not only can it make a positive difference in the lives of so many, but it can also show your LGBTQ+ employees that you truly care about their safety and well-being. #PrideMonth #LGBTQCommunity #InclusiveWorkplace

✨ LGBTQ+ History Month ✨ In case you didn't know, February is LGBTQ+ History month. This month, we’ve been sharing tips on how you can be a better ally to the LGBTQ+ community, including how checking your own privilege helps you to be more supportive, calling out discrimination, and remembering that everyone is unique with individual lived experiences. 👉 Allyship Tip 4: Be receptive to feedback 👈 Being open, receptive and listening to feedback from other people is so important. They may want to highlight something you could have done differently, give some advice so you can be more supportive, or educate you on their lived experiences or those of the LGBTQ+ community. Listening, not being defensive when being corrected, and allowing the other person to share openly with you will all go towards enabling you to be a better ally and better support to your LGBTQ+ peers! #lgbtqhistorymonth #inclusion #allyship #podtalent

Getting older is challenging enough. Aging as a member of the LGBTQ+ community can be even more so. More than 3 million LGBTQ+ Americans are over age 50. Many of us don’t have grown children to help us as we age. However, with a long history of fighting discrimination, we have built strength, resilience, and humor that will serve us well in later years. Click the link below to read more to find out how to help protect your rights, assets, dignity, and well-being as you get older. https://bit.ly/3RjJKu5 #lgbtqaging #lgbtqresources #lgbtqsenior #lgbtqowned #portlandlgbtq

In celebration of Pride Month, we are spotlighting some critical issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community, including healthcare disparities. Unfortunately, not all healthcare is created equal, and the LGBTQ+ community often faces significant barriers to accessing quality care. However, there are actionable steps that healthcare providers can take to address these challenges and close the gap. Learn more in our CultureBeat blog by Meagan Carruth, Quantitative Research Analyst, “The Barriers to Healthcare for the LGBTQ+ Community.” 🌟 Read the full blog here: https://bit.ly/3RGo3EQ #MRX #insightsMRX #marketresearch #LGBTQResearch #LGBT #LGBTQ #LGBTQIA #pronouns #genderidentity #LGBTQhealthcare #crresearch

✨ LGBTQ+ History Month ✨ In case you didn't know, February is LGBTQ+ History month. Last week, we shared the first in our series of tips on how you can be a better ally to the LGBTQ+ community, and how checking your privilege helps you to be more supportive to all marginalised groups, not just LGBTQ+ people. 👉 Allyship Tip 2: Call it out! 👈 Don’t underestimate the power of calling out micro-aggressions, people using incorrect pronouns, deadnaming, inappropriate jokes, or general discriminatory comments. It shouldn’t be the responsibility of members of the LGBTQ+ community to have to always stand up for themselves and point out when people are wrong – it’s everyone’s responsibility! Whether there are LGBTQ+ people present or not, calling out this behaviour every time it happens will hopefully lead to a safer and more comfortable environment for your LGBTQ+ colleagues. #lgbtqhistorymonth #inclusion #allyship #podtalent

Today, Ari Shaw, Ph.D. represented The Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law on a panel at the Milken Institute Global Conferenece on The Role of Companies for LGBTQ+ Rights. We are beyond grateful to Briland Graves, Brian Patrick Fano Carandang, and Richard Ditizio for making this important conversation come to life. “In the United States alone, nearly 14 million adults identify as LGBTQ+. The LGBTQ+ community currently wields $1 trillion in spending power—a metric that is only expected to grow. As the community becomes increasingly represented in employee and consumer bases alike, what role should corporations play in LGBTQ+ rights? How does it inform how and when companies make business decisions?” You can watch the whole panel here: https://lnkd.in/gBnrUVS6 #MIGLOBAL
