The lamp lighting ceremony formally declares the student's entry into the nursing profession. It is supposed to bring good luck, wealth, and prosperity into life. Day 1 Nurses week- I was demoralised. At my place of work, it's my first time celebrating the nurses week with them. It turned out to be an embarrassing moment. All activities evenly planned out and today (day 1) happens to be a symposium day. Themed: Our Nurses our Future. The economic power of care.... It is required that every unit should appoint someone to present on the topic. unfortunately for my unit, no one was appointed, no update was given, until the last minute I was asked to present. At this minute? not prepared for anything? I asked myself🤨🤨 Well, I just have to step in and say one or few words I reasoned. so I decide to talk on the challenges affecting our nurses and our future, ways to handling it, deducing the context using my unit as a case study. unfortunately, I was shut off and felt demorilized with the loud statement "Your topic isn't in line with the theme, there is no need for it". Not even giving the opportunity to understand my driven context. Well, I felt bad😊😊 I don't think this nurses week will a vibe for me as I expected it. But not withstanding, I will present my ideas in my next post, cos I won't let it die in me, If they dont want to hear it, someone here will read and appreciate it 😁😁 Happy nurses week to all descendants of Nightingale!!!!! #confidence #nursesweek #celebration #International
