UBMS RESEARCH GROUP SCALES ONE MORE STEP TOWARDS RESILIENCE. URG has evolved the Enhanced Global Analytics for Bridge Management [GABM] to enable all Bridge Management system users to migrate their old data to GABM. Importing inspection data to GABM enables users then evaluate Risk index for natural hazards for the bridges inspected previously. Existing bridge management system which do not have such Analytics, benefit from this Migration. Along with import of data, we have facilitated Export of data, that can be used in our upcoming online application to evaluate the impact of natural hazards on existing aging Deteriorated bridges. Risk assessment for natural hazards within GABM is the first critical step in our overall research commitment to “Navigate from Deteriorated to Resilient Bridges”. Risk assessment evaluates the risk index for the known deteriorated status in the bridge structure. This data in combination with known historical narrative about the natural hazards for geographical location of the bridge, yields risk index for the bridge. With the export functionality, GABM users can migrate known Risk index and deterioration model of bridges to the Online Application “MND2RB”, which implies “Management for Navigating from Deteriorated to Resilient Bridges”. URG stands firmly on the threshold of evolution of MND2RB. Our research will empower communities to become more resilient and ensure that Rescue and Relief operations never allow Natural hazards to be converted to Calamities. There is nothing natural about this conversion of hazards to calamities. Cost efficient Global applicability of GABM and MND2RB empowers the smallest of the country and the smallest inventory owners to ensure their communities achieve resilience. This entire researched application will be available for use to all the authorized rescue and relief organizations globally. Our researchers will be attending the World Sustainable Development Summit organized by The Energy and Recourses Institute in New Delhi from 8th February 2024. They will interact with other research bodies from across the world. Till URG posts our next update, Come and Enjoy the technical marvel “ENHANCED GABM”. Align with URG’s research to ensure a resilient transportation networks leading to resilient society. https://lnkd.in/eAsPScma #riskassessment #bridgemanagement #bridgeengineering #morth #disasterriskreduction #disastermitigation #NDMA #CDRI #NIDM #riskindex

The UNRISD project on Sustainable Development Performance Indicators (SDPI) offers a comprehensive set of indicators focusing on various aspects of business performance related to equality, distributive justice, economic power and influence, and natural resource consumption. These indicators assist economic entities in evaluating the alignment of their operations with the goals outlined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In this webinar video, advocates of the UNRISD SDPI framework and users of the new Online Platform came together to demonstrate how pioneering organizations are utilizing the SDPI. This event also marked the official launch of the user-friendly and accessible tool. UNRISD American Sustainable Business Network https://lnkd.in/g7sUxysD

Better use of information for people and the planet. Former Professor Public Sector Evaluation. Advisor and researcher.
So many organisations limit their opportunity to learn from challenges by focusing evaluations mostly on demonstrating the value of their work. The Global Environment Facility has just completed an evaluation that focused specifically on what could be learned from challenges they had experienced. Maybe other organisations could learn from this exercise? #evaluation #learning #accountability
“It’s not about engaging in low-risk projects. It’s more about trying to solve problems over time and through experimentation." Presented at #GEFcouncil66: Learning from Challenges in GEF Projects. This GEF - IEO report focuses on projects that failed to achieve their objectives by closure and those that were failing but managed to recover. It provides insights on non-linear, non-unform impact trajectories in complex interventions supported by the GEF. The report also offers guiding principles on how the GEF can enhance its role as a learning partnership that systematically learns from both successes and failures.
