Let's set the record straight! 💪🏾 Back to school is a time for new beginnings and opportunities, but some voices are spreading myths about charter schools and privatization. 🎒 Charter Schools are NOT about privatization - they're about innovation and giving parents the choice to find the best educational fit for their children. Charter schools ARE designed to meet the diverse needs of students, offering specialized programs and flexible learning environments that traditional public schools might not provide. 🌟 In Houston and beyond, charter schools are making a positive impact by providing quality education, increasing graduation rates, and preparing students for successful futures. Instead of tearing down these opportunities, let's focus on how we can support all schools in providing the best education possible for every child. 📚 Let’s work together to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has access to a high-quality education that meets their needs. 🏫✨

Impact and progress matter. In this post from Robert Rogers he shares a recent blog from Brent Beasley about the state of our performance in Fort Worth Tarrant County schools. Our students are our future and thier progress or lack of progress does impact all of us. Here is a quick quote from his article. I encourage all of us to read it and think about actions we can take to make improvements. “Why does this matter? A recent study by the State of Texas followed 3rd graders who scored below grade level on the state assessment. As they followed those 3rd graders over the next 15 years, they found that less than 2% went on to earn a 2- or 4-year degree after high school. In other words, over 98% of 3rd graders who were below grade level did not earn a college degree of any kind. “How our kids are doing in school now matters immensely for what they will be able to do in their future. Our children who can’t read or do math at grade level are stuck behind a forbidding fence that runs between them and future opportunity.” #impsci #implementation #implementationscience #changemaker
