Back in the Ocean Hyway Cluster office, what have I missed? For the past year I have been in maternity leave with my lovely daughter, and while I didn’t go into complete hibernation, I’m sure I haven’t picked up on everything 👶 To get me up to speed: People of the H2/NH3 value chain, what’s the most important thing that has happened the past year, in your company or in general? Links are also appreciated 🙂 🙌 #hydrogen #ammonia #hydrogenvaluechain

Watching the journey & story of Plush SE16's displacement is a reminder that real community is largely created by individuals & small self-funded businesses; not the large well funded public organisations, charities or even CICs. There is a common sign often posted in shops that I have read since being a child - "Please don't ask for credit as refusal often offends". The reality of this sign is that for small businesses credit is often STILL given. Whether it's letting someone off a penny or pound, allowing someone to pay next week or end of the month, throwing in that extra product, giving advice for free or at a discount - it is all forms of credit. Small businesses are the arterial connectors of community both deprived, enriched & everything in between. Many organisations which are grant funded are only in operation when funding is available, when it is done, the services also cease. For most small businesses, families have to work for free in that business to help support the legacy of the venture, weather the storms & to ensure its survival. All of this labour is love & is poured into the community it serves. The support & acknowledgement given to those reaching into their own pockets to give community an anchoring of placement, a voice to be heard & sense of belonging is sadly overlooked with a nonchalant disregard by so many. There are heroic people around us who need the protection to keep thinking & acting from the heart. Will we keep waiting for high engagement numbers, celebrity endorsements or popular statistics to see the value that small business brings to our community, culture & local economy? Plush SE16 did many things & broke some barriers over its 20 year lifetime Here is my little list: - They broke down racial divides using the culture of food (Think people like 90s skin 'eads eating Jerk Chicken before & after a Millwall game) - They provided a safe place for young & old - They held a neutral space from youth violence - They created warm spaces for deprive community members - They were the ears & eyes into the wider community - They created jobs & entrepreneurial opportunities for up to 30 people at any one time from marginalised communities - They became a happy place to laugh, commune, de-stress & relax - They held a place for cultural conversations & expression - They gave men grooming advice & confidence in their appearances - They inspired, supported & loved on their whole community My questions is how many more places, spaces & business like Plush SE16 will our community lose?
Post-COVID, we needed spaces that brought us together. plushse16 was that space for over 20 years. Having it erased without replacement is a blow to our sense of community. Regent Land & Developments and Henshall & Partners claim to 'maximise value' but this seems to exclude the value of diverse, vibrant communities you've disrupted. #NoPriceOnCulture #Displaced #UnityLost #SavePlush #DisruptionNotDevelopment #SavePlushSE16

Our Reflections on #WorldRewildingDay This year, the day exceeded our expectations in terms of magnitude, reach and sophistication, demonstrating the hard work that Alliance Partners all around the world have been putting in, and the hope that they have transformed into action. As we look ahead, with momentum propelling us onwards, it is also crucial to reflect on what the day meant to us, not just as an organisation, but for the wider movement too. Take this moment to celebrate, gather strength from the #hopeintoaction, and leap into transforming hope into #rewilding action and successes... https://lnkd.in/gnS2FEYX

Can you change the world? We believe we can. That’s why we have embarked on the process of becoming a B Corp company. It’s a lengthy application process, but worth it. Becoming B Corp is a transition, it’s a shift. It’s adopting new priorities and making a commitment to those priorities. I’m proud of all the work that my team is doing to make this a reality. Here they are after delivering a phenomenal talk on B Corp at Marwell Wildlife Here’s to building a better future for all. #sustainability #BCorp #Thursday

A couple of weeks ago, we celebrated #WorldRewildingDay. 🐼🐠🦬 A day that brought us together to celebrate the #rewilding movement. The energy leading up to the day, felt on World Rewilding Day, and afterwards was wild and powerful. 🐅 We don't always take the time to look back, slow down, and assess big initiatives. I'm learning that it can be as powerful and important as preparing for them, bringing valuable insights and a different sort of knowledge. There are many lessons and reflections to have about this year's World Rewilding Day, here are 3 that I wanted to share today: 1. Our Collective Strength: The rewilding movement thrives on our collective strength. As we all came together to celebrate, we realized how big we were. Together joining with a similar vision. 💫 It's not us versus them. It's all of us together. 2. A Human Movement: At its core, rewilding is a human movement, full of diverse individuals looking to connect with each other. By focusing on the human stories behind rewilding efforts, we foster a deeper connection and sense of hope. (Keep an eye out for Global Rewilding Alliance's Rewilding Diaries) 3. Creating Momentum: We've heard it many times: this year's World Rewilding Day felt so much bigger than any other year. We've been amazed by the positive power of social media to enable us to connect with like-minded individuals and create momentum for rewilding initiatives on the day and forward. 🦊 Did you participate in World Rewilding Day, near or far? I'd love to hear your experience! For more reflections, check out our blog 👇 #hopeintoaction #biodiversity #environmentalcommunications #GenerationRestoration

This past weekend one of our key suppliers posted this event they took part in upping their game in our minds as the truly sustainable brand that we love to have in our stock as a premier brand. Not only do they make a brand with purpose in mind, Sustainability, they also walk the talk in their company culture. The snow was still falling in a swirl in Calgary yesterday and today the sun is bright and clear in our skies. For Canada, this time of year means, crazy weather, new growth, the grass gets green, tulips pop, and river cleanups! Community spring clean-up events are fantastic opportunities for neighbours to come together and improve the appearance and livability of their neighbourhoods. They promote a sense of civic pride and unity while making tangible improvements to the local environment. Spring clean-ups also serve as a reminder of the importance of environmental stewardship and encourage individuals to take responsibility for keeping their communities clean and beautiful. The outfit of the day can look like this: thick soled boots, long pants, a long sleeve shirt, lots of garbage bags, ball caps and community spirit. There's always a group to join, a corporate event you can start within your company that can lead to your band of clean up crews. A quote from Atlantis Headwear's website, For us, being sustainable is not just an abstract concept, but a daily choice. Projects dedicated to reducing environmental impact, enhancing people and promoting culture are part of our strategy for a better future. Enhance your team today! #atlantisheadwear #sprincleanup #spring #corporateculture #sustainability
On Saturday, April 6, we had no time... to waste! In fact, the Atlantis team committed their morning to restore the shine to the city parks, cleaning them of trash left on the ground and in public green spaces The initiative, promoted by the Rotary Club, is part of an environmental education program in schools, which Atlantis joined with great enthusiasm and fun! #atlantisheadwear #headwearevolution #sustainability
