It's posible to use 10 pNICs at 1GB or only 2 pNICs at 10 - 100GB. This applies to VMware vSphere Standard Switch (vSS) or VMware vSphere Distributed Switch (vDS). You can either create separate vSwitches using dedicated physical NICs or if NICs are not available you could also create separate port groups using different VLAN IDs on the same vSwitch.

[Blog] VMware ESXi 7: disable "No coredump target has been configured." warning If you are using SD card or USB key for boot in VMware vSphere 7, you may receive the warning "No coredump target has been configured. Host core dumps cannot be saved".
