Healthcare companies clamor for "we want to help clinicians", but the reality sometimes comes to raw numbers - how many clinician resources do we have to even work with, just by headcount? Having been both motivated and irked by the reasons for the training doctor strike in Korea, I wanted to get a sense of: "considering the entire healthcare industry, which occupation is growing/shrinking" There is an understanding that healthcare is a "growing" employee's market particularly for nurse practitioners (NP) and physician assistants (PA), I've tapped in to Bureau of Labor Statistics's (BLS) rich history of employment / wage records going back as far as 1998. Trends are particularly helpful in the context of both: 1) year-over-year trends for decade + 2) comparing the trends to other occupations within healthcare Attached are the trends that BLS has been tracking to the best of their abilities, with some short commentaries for the past 1-2 decades for: 🔹 Physicians 🔹 Registered Nurses (RN) 🔹 Nurse Practitioners (NP) 🔹 Nursing Assistants 🔹 Physician Assistants 🔹 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Source: BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (https://www.bls.gov/oes/) Also am hosting the full analysis at https://lnkd.in/e--yJyGS Made with Observable

🌐 Revolutionizing Healthcare with Smart Hospital Solutions from Artisight! Stephanie Lahr, MD, CHCIO, and President of Artisight, envisions a future where every hospital room becomes a hub of advanced care through the integration of cameras and speakers, enabling two-way video support. Artisight's capabilities are not just limited to remote nurse support; they are expanding to various disciplines, transforming healthcare delivery. By utilizing nurses at the bedside and others overseeing through video, each can concentrate on different aspects of care. This innovative approach optimizes time, allowing physically present nurses to spend more quality time with patients. Despite the initial perception of requiring more staff, Stephanie Lahr emphasizes that splitting the work has proven to be a time-saving strategy. Virtual nurses play a crucial role in mentoring less experienced counterparts, guiding them through essential measures such as preventing pressure ulcers, which pose significant risks for immobile patients. Coaching healthcare workers to create calmness in their work environment. Helping clients reduce stress and anxiety without medication or talk therapies. #healthcare #mentalhealth #calm #coaching
Elevating Healthcare 💙 Dear Healthcare Leaders, One study done in Sept 2023 found that 33% of new nurses leave their job within the first year and up to 56% leave within the second year. Those numbers are alarming. In your relentless pursuit of patient care excellence, let's explore a transformative approach—group coaching for your medical teams. It's a proactive strategy to prevent burnout, nurture emotional well-being, and foster wellness in the workflow. As we know, happy teams create happy patients. Group coaching brings medical professionals together, providing a safe space for them to share experiences, concerns, and triumphs. It enhances collaboration, empathy, and emotional support within the team. By nurturing the well-being of your medical staff, you will empower them to deliver the best care to your patients, while not being affected by chronic work place stress. Nurse retention is important for all involved. The stories we hear are that some struggle with emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, and the best option they see is leaving their job. We hear more and more that nurses need understanding from their leaders. They are ready to see action. When working side by side in this holistic approach in healthcare, we can create a work environment where emotional well-being is as vital as medical expertise, ultimately benefiting both the medical teams and the patients. #HealthcareLeadership #WellnessInTheWorkplace #HealthcareWellness #Onlinecoaching #AntonettaElizabeth
