Soft Mobility challenge by Bike 🚲at Fives Solios: a great ecological success! 🌍 In April, the Fives Solios' employees in Givors took up the challenge of collectively cycling 1,400 km to and from home. 📍 This distance is equivalent to the Givors - Naples route. An ambitious challenge that was met and exceeded! 🎉 Their enthusiasm and determination were contagious, as the number of cyclists climbed over the month reaching 12 participants. By cycling, these courageous cyclists not only chose to reduce their carbon footprint, but also to act for their health by enjoying the great outdoors. 🚵♀️ 🔍In figures: A bicycle emits 0 g of CO2/km compared with a conventional car, which emits an average of 120 g of CO2/km. Note that an electric car emits 40 g of CO2/km. A good success that encourages Fives Solios to continue with this soft mobility approach. Well done to all the participants, thank you for your commitment, and together, let's give preference to sustainable modes of transport whenever we can! 🌎 #fivessolios #SoftMobility #Bike #Bicycle #Environnement #Health #wearefives

5 minutes with Vincent Perelló - European Rider Experience Manager at INTENSE Europe -Tell us a bit about you. "This is Vincent from Barcelona, Spain (perhaps one of the best countries for all-season MTB riding). Right now, I'm taking care of the Rider Experience in all of Europe and, at the same time, I'm the Manager of the little offices we have here in Spain." -What INTENSE bike do you ride and why do you like it? "Since 2018 I've been riding a Tracer customized component by component to match my style, support long alpine descends and, at the same time, keep the weight as low as possible. Versatility and fun that I have enjoyed on all types of terrain. A Tazer eBike is also in my garage, to go even further and faster and reach every single target on my riding list." -Apart from the frame, what component do you pay the most attention to and why? "Suspensions are crucial for me, as well as brakes; followed by a good pair of resistant wheels and grippy tires. And I'm not only talking about the right choice, but regular maintenance to keep top performance and prolong life span." -Where is your favorite place to ride? "Maybe 20 years ago, when I was just riding at Collserola, the mountains close to Barcelona city, that would be my answer. But then I started to travel with my bike and discover new places and areas... the Spanish Pyrenees, French Bike Parks, alpine areas in Switzerland or Italy with astonishing trails... Even so, I am extremely lucky to have MTB centers of international prestige in my own country, such as Ainsa Zona Zero, Puro Pirineo, or Territori Lo Podall by INTENSE, which we started sponsoring a year ago. No one should miss the opportunity to ride in there." -What one piece of advice would you give to someone who wants to work in the bike industry? "Be passionate and detail-oriented, help and collaborate with your colleagues or other departments and, whenever you can, try to anticipate possible problems. If the latter is not possible and you find yourself immersed in a crisis or problem, do not seek to feel sorry for yourself or find blame, the priority must always be to solve it and move on. With this mentality, you will be able to work wherever you want."

#BremenGermany is a top 10 #cyclingcity in Europe and considered the most bike friendly city in Germany but what inspired me the most while biking around here was the #BicycleTourism and the infrastructure outside of the urban core of the city that support it. This video shows a ride out to the charming rural landscape of the Borgfeld region on converted rural bicycle prioritized roads and built multiuse paths that, together with excellent wayfinding, form a very well connected rural cycling system. Although this day was German Labor Day, these roads and paths were packed with all ages from #8to80 These conversions make for truly wonderful biking experiences and are the epitome of bicycle tourism, and I can see this implemented anywhere with the right vision. According to a recent German bicycle tourism analysis, 37 million people – more than half of German adults – cycled during holidays or as part of a day trip in 2023, with shorter bicycle trips generating €2-3 billion and longer trips generating €6-7 billion. FYI, in 1980, Bremen was the location for the first Velo-city conference European Cyclists' Federation Handelskammer Bremen - IHK für Bremen und Bremerhaven Bremen Tourism & Convention #ruralcycling #healthylifestyle #germany #germancycling #ruraltourism #bikingculture #europeancycling #cyclingisforeveryone #cyclingtourism #deutschland #velohagen #Bremen #visitbremen

Last week I went to the Reframing Mountain Biking event in Sheffield. There were three themes under discussion: 1) Trails and Associations (Trail Associations: A Welcoming Space for All? How do we grow support for trails?) 2) Diversity and Inclusion (Why aren’t people mountain biking and what can we do about it?) 3) Media and Culture/Industry (How can storytelling in all forms facilitate and amplify positive messages around mountain biking). I have so many thoughts on the discussions that I'm struggling to corral them into words. But fundamentally, it illustrated that here at Singletrackworld.com we've been doing the right thing and heading in the right direction for many years. I lost count of the number of times I heard someone saying they wish they could read a story about x, and I know there are multiple examples in our archive. We've been writing for years about the stuff that the bike industry is just now waking up to. If you want to enable storytelling that goes beyond buying the latest product, then Singletrack World should be your media outlet of choice. Yes, we're independent, and we're a small team, but we're not a small fish. Singletrackworld.com is the UK's biggest mountain biking website - and the only mountain bike publication to beat Pinkbike in any territory! If you want to reach a UK mountain biking audience, it is us you should be talking to.
