**First-Time Experience at a Hackathon:** Code Crafter: 🚀 Just had an incredible first-time experience at a hackathon, and I'm thrilled to share the journey with you all! From ideation to execution, it was exhilarating to work alongside talented individuals with diverse skill sets, all coming together to solve real-world problems in a limited time frame. The last 4 days were like SPAAARRTTTAAANNSSS! at peopleHum This was my emotion last Monday, let me tell you what happened. Every year we used to have a flagship internal hackathon hosted by Avniro Group where the participants were from their subsidiary companies (Quinbay, peopleHum, Engati) - CodieCon. This year the management decided to conduct a separate hackathon for the whole of Peoplehum - Hack'n Hum. The event went really well, there were 100+ ideas posted out of which 20+ teams turned in for participation. From leads to interns everyone where putting their thoughts, skills, and ideas into play. The energy that I was able to feel from the floor was different, everyone was aspiring to bring something to the table, and everyone tried their level best to pull it off within the time. I enjoyed brainstorming, debating, and building solutions these four days. It feels like a craft when your heart is in play. Posted any idea that came to my mind that would add value to an HRM product. Picked up one idea that excited me the most to build( Obviously the one that felt impossible to do in a short span of time ). This Implementation required more research than code. Sheeesh! I figured out I don't just love development but research and Development. In an era of instant gratifications, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it when there was a breakthrough XYZ tool that could solve my problem after searching for almost half the time given for the hackathon. Built a conceptual POC of the solution. And patched everything up for the final demo with a wildcard answer 'We have planned that part of the feature for future development'. I have been there in countless demos the last year and I have never seen any demo that was delivered with this much passion and life. Everyone's idea had life when they went on to the stage to present, sheer passion. Who did win, did I win? Did my colleagues win? ....Nah! we don't know that yet But what I do know is we all did win, we all learned a little bit more about the product, and a little bit more about our teams. At idealo, we have a long history of innovating products by hosting Hackathons in various formats. After years of organizing Hackdays, Hackweeks, and the like in different departments, last month all idealos from all departments were invited to take part in a company-wide Hackweek to not only drive innovation but also to improve and encourage cross-departmental collaboration and to "think outside the box" 📦. As part of this, ideas were collected in three different categories: 🚀 Core improvements: How can we make idealo better?  🚀 New features: What new features does idealo need?  🚀 Productivity hacks (internal tools): How can we make our work more productive? After kicking off with idea pitches on Monday, our idealos formed teams and spent the week working on implementing those ideas.  The event took place both on-site at the office and in a hybrid format from home. On site, our Hackweek T-shirts were distributed and participants were provided with snacks and drinks.   At the closing event on Friday, the Hackweek winners were announced. All participants received a gift, and the infamous idealo Hackweek trophy was awarded. We would like to thank all participants for their diverse ideas and fantastic implementations, and we are excited to see many ideas being developed further this year.    Thanks also to Marco Nauber, Marcel Kühnau, Tino Nitze, and Jakob P. for the great organization!  One thing is for sure - we already are looking forward to the next Hackathon! 🚀 #idealo #idealolife #hackathon #hackweek

🌳🌱 Embracing the Power of Open Source and Environmental Responsibility! 🌿 In the spirit of #hacktoberfest2023 , I decided to make meaningful contributions to multiple open source repositories, from bug fixes to feature enhancements. It's been a fantastic journey of collaboration, learning, and growth. 🚀 What truly made this Hacktoberfest special was the partnership with #TreeNation. On successfull completion of hacktoberfest, a tree was planted in my name, contributing to a greener, more sustainable planet. 💡 Other than that I earned some badges through #HoloPin, recognizing my efforts and dedication to making the digital world a better place. 🏅 🙌 Although this year, they didn't shower us with swags, I can't help but feel immensely proud of this initiative of planting trees. I had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in a whirlwind of innovation, collaboration, and learning. This event wasn't just a hackathon; it was a journey of creativity and teamwork. 🚀From brainstorming sessions to late-night coding, every moment was packed with excitement and challenges that pushed us to think outside the box. I had the privilege of working alongside some of the brightest minds in the tech community, each bringing unique skills and perspectives to the table. Our team BYTECODERS💡Sanidhya Sahu Tanishka Jain Ankit Shukla tackled complex problems, experimented with cutting-edge technologies, and developed solutions that I'm genuinely proud of. 🚀A huge thank you to the organizers of #WittyHacks #datacode.in for putting together such a well-structured and inspiring event. The mentorship, resources, and support provided were invaluable and truly made a difference in our experience. Some days are more energizing than others. We’re only human after all (#daftpunk). One of the most energizing days for me in quite a while was the #hackathon we had a few weeks ago. Which Luuk Stolk and I proudly sponsored, organized at Brightlands Smart Services Campus (thx Pieter Custers & team 🙏🏼). What made it great was the mix of many talented colleagues, focus, environment, a great organizing team, good lean start up driven approach. Put that in a room together for a day, and some magic will happen, with really nice outcomes. The topic, well, it was not your average hackathon: ‘turn on the #learningculture’. Because we acknowledge that learning probably is THE most strategic organizational capability in this day and age. The ~60 participants granted the day an 8.4🥂, as well as some good learnings for next hackaton (EOY / Early next year). Anyway, many thanks to all Participants for putting in your minds, energy and time🙏🏼🙏🏾🙏🏻. It was a privilige to tap into this. Congrats to the winning team: Adri Bais Lakshmi Narayana Segu Abhishek Chowdhury Remco Erens. Great idea to create an intelligent service (LARA) to give insights in internal dependencies and relations for colleagues! Looking forward to the MVP.
