The importance of vocal variety and the "musicality" of your voice when delivering a business presentation comes up repeatedly. This is not only important for aesthetic reasons. Science now provides evidence that music contains information that can make the message of the music more accessible to audiences. Research suggests that Bach's musical networks "contained structures that could make their messages easier for human listeners to understand." If we want what we say to be meaningful and memorable, we need to use our voices as the instruments they are to reach our audiences and make music that is easy for the audience to listen to and hear. https://lnkd.in/dsPVmywt

What's the story? How to Break on through to the other side! In a world where every artist is vying for attention, how do you stand out? The answer lies in the power of storytelling. Take the band Weak 13, for example. They wrote a song about being overlooked by mainstream media, including THE BBC, which ironically caught the attention of BBC Radio 6. Why did this happen? Was the song SOOO amazing they couldn't ignore it? OR Because they had a story that resonated? As musicians, we're not just selling our sound; we're offering an experience, a perspective, an emotion. The gatekeepers of the industry – the producers of radio and TV – are on the hunt for content that's not just good, but intriguing, entertaining, and engaging. They want a narrative that will captivate their audience and keep them coming back. I've lived this reality. With my story of transitioning from a busker to performing on Broadway, I managed to secure spots on two BBC shows. It wasn't just the music they were interested in; it was the journey behind the music. My story added a layer of depth to my songs that listeners could connect with, turning the white noise into a clear signal. If you're struggling to be heard, ask yourself: What's your story? 🤔 Why should people listen to you over the countless others? Your unique journey, your struggles, your victories - these are the threads that can weave your way into the hearts of listeners and the playlists of producers. Want to learn how you can leverage your story for free PR worth thousands? 🤔😛 Drop a 'PR' in the comments to join the waiting list for my next workshop.👇 Transform your narrative into your breakthrough. #freeprworkshop #weak13 #onthebbc #thepromu

Bums on seats? Instrumental music has often bemoaned the problem of, "bums on seats". The provokes the thought that audiences don't like sitting and listening to music. Ironically it seems that bums on seats is the problem facing, "bums on seats". Sit, lay down, be on a bean bag. Music exists - in part - to distract the mind and dissipate stress build up. It matters that not everything in life matters. This allows us to focus on what matters. Listen to, "It matters that it doesn't matter", in a comfortable place. It's not homework. Don't analyse it. Let your mind get distracted, resolving the rhythmic interplay. Public engagement in the purpose of musical engagement may get more bums on seats, in both senses of the word. https://lnkd.in/edn2MxcU

Is there room for AI Music in Country Music? AI is everywhere now... and you can even use it to make country music. But it might rub some people the wrong way, especially dedicated country music fans. On the other hand, just about anyone who's a good song writer and is good with computers can create a song that people love. So shouldn't they be able to enjoy the same happiness that our beloved country musicians have been doing for decades? So the question is, did AI level the playing by allowing songwriters to make music without learning to sing or has it gone too far? Listen to a good example here: https://lnkd.in/dFYGavPz

Two weeks ago, Rick Beato's video sparked a debate about tech-induced laziness and the flurry of new music. Nonetheless, "good music" remains subjective. Today's landscape is characterized by genre fluidity and niche fandoms propelled by technological and cultural convergences. Online platforms are shaping a more complex musical landscape, replacing traditional genres. #musictrends #musicindustry #techinmusic https://lnkd.in/eUdzY3bt

New on the site from our Music Editor, Kerry Dexter: Music for Centering and Focus As circumstances of all sorts continue to shift, and information of all sorts arrives from all directions, making time for centering and focus can be useful. It can also be challenging. Music can help with that. Giving the time needed to focus on one song, to center on repeated listenings of a favorite—or a whole orchestra piece or a whole album—can be refreshing. It can also offer space for new ideas to appear, new perspectives to evolve. Both of those may well be needed in these shifting times. What do you think of that pitch of "Lunch" by Billie Eilish? Billie Eilish's "LUNCH" is a captivating blend of alternative pop and electro-pop, with a significant presence of electronic textures that create an ethereal and dreamy atmosphere. The song delves into themes of desire and temptation, with the artist's voice delivering a dynamic and emotive performance that enhances the lyrical content. The use of reverberated effects and synths adds depth, while the electric guitar provides a subtle yet impactful layer. The track's up-tempo rhythm and layered build-up contribute to an energetic and somewhat dancing vibe, making it both engaging and thought-provoking. --- I didn’t write this pitch—Bridge.audio's auto-description feature did. This feature is constantly evolving, becoming more efficient as it goes. Feel free to share your thoughts on how music should be described, the tone of voice, and more.
