For the 1st time in flight safety instructions are so creatively presented.
For centuries, Indian classical dance and folk-art forms have served as medium of storytelling and instruction. Today, they tell another story, that of inflight safety. I was genuinely tickled to see this, a delightful manifestation of the rebirth of Air India masked as a prosaic air safety video. I love so many things about it - the pride in India’s dizzying array of regional cultures, the seamless fusing of humanity and technology (India’s current brand) and the faultless technical execution of the video. Imagine how long-term Air India employees feel after so many years of dismal mismanagement prior to the Tata acquisition. The biggest airplane orders in history, a deft restructuring, a complete top-to-bottom rebrand and now world-class messaging such as this. This is an object lesson in how to do a really big turnaround the right way.

If you're thinking of flying to Naples LIRN this summer, know that it might end up like that pizza in the picture. You'll spend a lot of time eating/planning, but it will become increasingly clear that there's just no parking or slots in Naples. 1500 movements for the whole year for BA/GA flights? 🤌 (note: they'd burn through that in Nice just with the F1 Grand Prix and the film festival, leaving nothing for the Yacht Show... 😀 ) We'll see if the reopening of Salerno LIRI helps improve the situation at least a little. #absjets #absjetsOCC #businessaviation #flightplanning #flightsupport #gabasummer2024

As a Bharatanatyam and Kathak dancer myself it is so heartwarming to see diverse dance forms take the art of storytelling up a notch. A idea that was culminated to explain the importance of safety precautions in an aircraft has been well addressed. From a psychologist’s perpective this is an interesting approach on how movement and art are so deeply associated with humans. Symbols and body language to express one’s emotions are constantly being developed. From heiroglyphics and rock carvings we have moved into a tech savy world where we have circular yellow icons called emoticons that help communicate one’s emotions. I couldn’t help but ponder upon the importance of art being a medium of facilitation of thought processes. We have corporate meetings wherein graphs and colours are used to define particular statistics of a certain project. Can we also strive to have an environment where employees use colours, charts, and other media to define their thoughts and feelings, to tell a story, and to pause and mindfully wind themselves back into the world of hustle culture that refers to employees as the roles they contribute to? I believe that such exercises would help in the holistic growth of an employee and the organisation. I would love to understand different opinions from experts in the field and other professionals on the same! #organizationalculture #diversity #holisticgrowth #workplacewellness #futureofwork

When was the last time you used your creativity as a magic wand to leave a lasting impact on your audience and stakeholders? 🪄 Last week, I had the pleasure of flying with Air India and came across this masterpiece of creativity: "Safety Mudras - Inflight Safety Video". This is an inflight safety instruction video inspired by story telling through Indian Classical dances including Bharatnatyam, Odissi, Ghoomar etc. It effectively communicates safety instructions to the passengers while celebrating India's rich culture, heritage and tourism. Kudos to the Air India Limited team for their innovative approach! ❤️ Some take away from this video - there is nothing new under the sun, and you need not be afraid to draw inspiration from the world around you to become a little more creative at thought, a little more effective in communication and a little more impactful with your ideas. 🌞 Remember, nothing is truly original and there's always a pinch of inspiration from elsewhere. So, take a walk outside, listen to a new podcast, or read a book on a topic you know nothing about. You never know where your next great idea might come from! #creativity #inspiration #impactfulideas
