Volkswagen Group’s Post

Our colleagues at Volkswagen have done the math: Their all-electric ID.4 Pro* offers clear CO₂ benefits compared to a similar vehicle with a combustion engine (ICE). A lifecycle assessment reviewed by TÜV Nord found that while the ID.4 Pro* has higher CO₂ emissions during production, these are offset during the use phase. This effect is even greater when charged exclusively with green electricity. Take a look at the key numbers: 💚 A better carbon footprint after around 66,000 km with green power compared to ICE (around 97,000 km with the EU power mix). 💚 Around 50% CO₂ savings over its entire life when charged with green electricity (EU mix). 💚 Around 25% CO₂ reduction when charged with the conventional EU power mix. The full lifecycle assessment covers CO₂ savings potential of a vehicle across the entire lifecycle - from the raw material extraction to production, use, and dismantling for subsequent recycling, comparing the ID.4 Pro* and a diesel model over 200,000 km in the WLTP test cycle.   * ID.4 Pro with 210 kW- Combined power consumption 15.8 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions 0 g/km; CO₂ class: A.

It would be much more powerful to compare the ID.4 vs a petrol model. The current diesel sales mix is much smaller when compared with the number of petrol cars sold.

The vehicles are spaceships on wheels and must be sustainable after 120 years the producers of vehicles made big pollutions

That could mean a pay back of 4 years until it first makes sense. That´s still way too long in my opinion. I fully agree with regulations getting into the city centers but don´t see the point for long trips, which is the case for many people.

until we get more eco friendly batteries (by that i mean the way we get the materials to produce them) that last longer honestly i cannot see the benefit of any kind of electric car.

Sure and have software glitches all over the place. I say no to VW lineup, I rather buy Zeeker.

The conventional petrol engine can use hydrogen and oxygen received from water using Brown Gas generator produced in Bulgarian company www.hho-bulgaria.com And so will reduce CO2 gas pollution in the air
