One of the best infrastructure tools freely available with a bundle of recommended practices for you to start implementing today #Charities #Governance
Our sincere thanks to the scores of charities, trustees, advisors, governance professionals and more, who have responded to our consultation on the future of the Charity Governance Code. We have been deeply encouraged by the level of engagement, and by the depth, breadth and thoughtfulness of the feedback which we have received. The consultation is now closed. We are carefully considering all of the comments received, which will ultimately shape any updates to the Code. Our goal is to make the Code as effective a tool as possible for supporting good governance, by removing barriers to its use and supporting charities in its implementation. We will be continuing to speak with, and seek feedback from, a variety of stakeholders throughout this important process of updating the Code. Thank you for your ongoing support. #Charity #CharityGovernance #Trustees #BoardofTrustees #CharityLaw #GoodGovernance #Governance #CharitySector

The Charities (Regulation and Administration) (Scotland) Act 2023 is introducing some important changes to charity law in Scotland. Some of these changes have already taken effect, with others to be introduced on a phased basis in 2025. To help charities to prepare for these changes, and understand how they may affect your charity, OSCR is hosting a number of online sessions in partnership with the Fife Voluntary Action, the local TSI for Fife. 👇 Updated Guidance for Trustees from the Charity Commission 👇 The Charity Commission has updated its decision-making guidance to encourage more trustees to read it. The new version of CC27 is shorter and uses simpler language, as research indicated that trustees were not using the previous version effectively. The legal requirements and expectations remain unchanged, but the guidance is now more concise and takes about 12 minutes to read. The updated guidance, includes seven principles from court rulings and addresses areas where charities have struggled, such as collective decision-making and recording trustee decisions. Trustees are generally confident in decision-making but uncertain about some aspects. #Shropshire #Community #CharityGuidance
