Are you death literate? We prepare meticulously for life’s milestones—births, weddings, career transitions—but how often do we prepare for the one certainty: death? Death literacy is defined as “the knowledge and skills that people need to make it possible to gain access to, understand, and make informed choices about end-of-life and death care options.” To measure this, researchers have developed the Death Literacy Index (DLI), a 29-item tool assessing practical, experiential, factual, and community knowledge related to end-of-life matters. Studies indicate that individuals with higher death literacy are better equipped to make informed decisions, provide effective support to others, and experience reduced fear and anxiety about death. By enhancing our death literacy, we not only empower ourselves but also contribute to building compassionate communities that approach end-of-life matters with openness. So, how death literate are you? What steps have you taken to prepare yourself or support others? #deathliteracy #endoflifecare

For Grandparents' Day, we want to recognize the important roles these special people play in our lives. ❤️ Grandparents can be helpful caregivers that allow you to focus on other responsibilities. 🏫 Grandparents can make excellent teachers, especially when it comes to financial literacy and life lessons. 📘 Grandparents often are the family storytellers. Stories from their childhood, life lessons, and even family history all can come from our grandparents. #SAFEFinancialServices #Sacramento #local#creditunion #investinYOU
