In New Jersey, our Aletha R. Wright “Vision of Hope” Center and Navigational Resource Centers are helping people like Jamil get back on their feet. After being displaced from his home, he turned to Volunteers of America Delaware Valley for help. Our staff not only provided immediate resources and emergency housing – ultimately, they helped Jamil regain his confidence and land a job. We continue to lend a hand to those experiencing homelessness, especially for those impacted by the recent storms. At Trevista at Horace Mann, a K-8 school in northwest Denver, Volunteers of America Colorado volunteer Pat has been transforming the school library, one display at a time. Whether students are reading, doing homework, or working on crafts, students can find a safe space in the library because of Pat's dedication. As we continue to celebrate International Day of Older Persons, volunteers from our Foster Grandparent program do more than donate their time.
