Vice President, Global Head of Innovation and Partnerships | Generative AI | CTO | Formerly @Stellantis @ArcelorMittal @Gestamp @Forvia
#battery 🔋 #electricvehicles investments study by Transport & Environment (T&E) 🥇🇺🇸🇨🇦🇲🇽 🥈🇪🇺 🥉🇨🇳 « North America is the only region which has a large share of investments from non-domestic carmakers including European 🇪🇺, Japanese 🇯🇵 and South Korean 🇰🇷 carmakers 🚗, lured by the generous local manufacturing subsidies granted by the 2022 U.S. Inflation Reduction Act for EV and battery production. In contrast the majority of investments in Europe 🇪🇺 (80%) are by European 🇪🇺carmakers, with the remaining majority coming from #Tesla, #Geely, #Nissan and #Ford. The small share of investments by non European carmakers indicates a lack 🥺 of attractiveness of Europe as a destination for foreign EV investments compared to North America. Of the carmakers which have invested in Europe, only 6 (BMW, JLR, Renault, Mercedes, Nissan and VW) have directed more than 50% of their investments to Europe. Major European carmaker #Stellantis has directed just 10% of announced investments to Europe, instead locating 74% in North America. This should sound warning ‼️ bells 🔔 for Europe: its current lack of a coherent EV industrial strategy to compete with China and the U.S. is hampering investment even from its own domestic carmakers. » Thanks for the heads up Himanshu Bhatt & Dr. Wilhelm Graupner 😀😀 More on T&E Anna Krajinska https://lnkd.in/eJeVA8Av

The BrightDrop electric van, setting the wheels in motion for a brighter tomorrow. Picture this: GM's Cami plant in Ingersoll, Ontario, buzzing with excitement like a beehive on a sunny day. The launch of the BrightDrop van is no ordinary event; it's a beacon of hope for the future of transportation, with DHL Express Canada jumping on board as the Canadian launch customer faster than you can say "charge it up!" It's like having a trusty sidekick on a heroic quest for efficiency. But wait, there's more! With plans to manufacture the smaller Zevo 400 and orders pouring in like confetti at a parade, it's clear that the BrightDrop van is just the beginning of GM's electrifying journey. Thrilled to Share My Experience from the Global Partner Conference! Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Global Partner Conference with JAC motors. It was more than just a business gathering; it was a deep dive into the rich and beautiful Chinese culture. The experience was enlightening and truly unforgettable. One of the highlights of the event was getting a first-hand experience with 7 new upcoming models from JAC Motors. These models are set to hit the market in 2024. Driving these innovative vehicles offered a glimpse into the future of the auto industry, and it's looking bright. The conference was an excellent reminder of why we do what we do in this industry. The theme "Think & Create" perfectly encapsulates JAC's vision to "create a better vehicle life". Their commitment to maintaining their roots while innovating is inspiring. JAC Motors stays true to their original aspiration, upholding the dream of manufacturing vehicles, and proudly raising the banner for Chinese independent brands in the auto industry. The spirit of "Be a Doer" resonated deeply. It's not just a motto; it's a living embodiment of JAC Motors' fighting spirit. Their hard power and pragmatic approach are what sets them apart in the industry. I left the conference feeling inspired and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of such a forward-thinking community. The future of automotive is bright, and it's companies like JAC Motors that are leading the charge. #globalpartnerconference #JACMotors #Automotiveinnovation #thinkcreate #beadoer #automotiveFuture
