The Subaru Solterra SUV EV https://lnkd.in/dEEgP4fm Solterra, the fourth SUV in our European line-up, is our first zero emission SUV. It is coined after two Latin words; Sol (for Sun), and Terra (for Earth) - which Subaru intends to keep driving on responsibly making use of new, alternative technologies. The front retains Subaru's iconic hexagon grille, the Subaru's C-shaped front lights (which feature Subaru's first multiple projector LED headlamps), and now has air-intakes on each side of the front bumper, which aren't there for the show but contribute to the car's on-road performance. This weekend's innovation: the first all-glass flying yacht in the world, called BMW "The Icon"! "The Icon" is an electric boat that BMW and Tyde are building together. It's the first all-glass flying yacht in history. It has six BMW i3 batteries that power its two 100 kW electric motors. The Icon has a 50 nautical mile range and can glide at up to 30 mph with a smooth hydrofoil-like design. As opposed to conventional boats, "foiling" means that the hull is above the water, which cuts down on energy usage by 80%. The control station, located mid-deck, features voice control and iDrive-style controls. A 32-inch "infotainment" touchscreen with 6K resolution is also included. Some time ago, BMW teamed up with Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer to create custom soundtracks for its cars. The partnership also extends to other BMW vehicles, including this boat.
