Volvo Trucks is developing trucks with combustion engines that can be driven by hydrogen. 📍 Road tests with trucks that use hydrogen in combustion engines are scheduled to begin in 2026. The launch is scheduled for the end of this decade 🌍 Green hydrogen-powered trucks represent an important step for us to achieve our net-zero emissions goal and support our customers to achieve their decarbonization goals #hydrogen #sustainability #VolvoTrucksEstonia More facts: 📌 Hydrogen-powered Volvo trucks will have a range that is comparable to many diesel trucks, depending on the type of transport. 📌 Due to the low CO2 emissions in hydrogen combustion, these trucks are classified as “zero-emission vehicles” according to the newly agreed EU CO2 emission standards. 📌 Hydrogen combustion engines emit only very small amounts of nitrogen oxides and particles. 📌 Hydrogen can also be used to drive electric trucks with fuel cells, generating electricity on board the vehicle. 📌 Fuel cells-electric trucks do not emit exhaust emissions, but only water vapor. https://lnkd.in/dN263r9c

Breathe Battery Technologies, a UK start-up, has partnered with Volvo Cars, which will see Breathe provide the latest version of its algorithm-enabled charging software for use on Volvo Cars’ new generation fully electric cars.   Osborne Clarke advised Breathe on the investment by Volvo through its venture and growth capital team, led by Justin Starling who was supported by Sian Daly.   The collaboration will see Breathe's software integrated into Volvo Car's in-house developed battery management platform to reduce the time it takes to charge an electric Volvo from 10% to 80% state of charge by as much as 30%, while maintaining the same energy density and range. 🔋   Read more > https://lnkd.in/etbz78KQ

Late last year, the CEOs of #Polestar and StoreDot made a promise to take the vision of extreme fast charging into the vehicle. A couple of months ago, we made major strides towards that promise. Together with Polestar, we successfully demonstrated the world's first 10-minute vehicle charge (10-80%) with silicon-based battery technology. 🔋Jens Groot, Battery System Chief Engineer at Polestar, stated: "What we did is, I believe, a world first. For a standard vehicle without any novel cooling systems, we are looking at charging speeds I haven't seen anywhere else ... We didn't add anything new outside the battery pack." The event will occur between June 26th and 28th, 2024, in Vairano, Italy. This year, Quattroruote, the Italian car bible, is supporting the event as a technical partner for the third time. The 2024 edition of the ECOBEST Challenge has been certified by Bureau Veritas – a global recognition of the genuine, comprehensive, consistent, and innovative methodology employed in testing electric vehicles (EVs) in real traffic conditions and assessing their real-life green credentials in an unbiased manner. Organized annually by AUTOBEST, ECOBEST Challenge is the first European independent real traffic test of mainstream EVs, revealing their true green credentials. the Kawasaki Hydrogen bike is a test mule. Nowhere has Kawasaki intimated that this bike is anything but, nor that it's anywhere close to becoming any kind of production bike. For the moment, it's a proof-of-concept, and a place to begin evolving future hydrogen two-wheeler technologies, if this is indeed a route that Kawasaki intends to continue pursuing. https://lnkd.in/gF--QSXS
