Happy to have moderated a Reuters webinar focused on debunking myths about fleet decarbonisation and addressing concerns surrounding the electrification of road transport. A few key takeaways : ➡ Medium and Heavy Duty Vehicles (MHDVs) are key levers in the decarbonisation of road transport. While a technology mix is often at play within corporate fleets, the mainstream solution emerging is Battery Electric Trucks. They emit 63% less GHG than their diesel counterparts in Europe. ➡Things are moving fast, but the cost burden is falling disproportionately on fleets. Engaging in dialogues between OEMs, shippers and carriers is vital to ensure each actor in the ecosystem plays its role in accelerating the transition. ➡It's (almost) all about infrastructure. Anticipating the costs, dimensioning, and operation planning for charging are paramount to the success of a company's fleet electrification. Charging at depots is a big part of the answer but public infrastructure on the road needs to be further developed with the implementation of #AFIR and boosting innovative industry projects like Milence ! ➡ Corporate leadership, as showcased by Climate Group's #EV100 and #EV100+, is crucial for a successful transition. This, coupled with strategic roadmaps, targeted communications plans and training for drivers, is the winning combination. Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/gW5fy5sH Thank you Bekki Mistri and Thom Marx for the invitation, and to our great speakers for sharing their expertise and insights – Himanshu Raj from Ingka Group, Joseph Hurst from Nestlé and Tim Campbell from Campbell EV Consulting !

Attending my first Global Fleet, The Executive Network event after over five years at Fleet Europe conferences, I came with expectations set high. This year's emphasis is "the real road to sustainability," which highlights a crucial point: global operations often require detailed, granular data, not just at a high level. It's about more than just data collection; it's about translating that information into actionable, meaningful change. Take, for example, how global businesses record their fleet's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Are drivers still noting these manually or submitting alongside fuel receipts and odometer readings? This move toward digitization is evident, with a growing trend to automate these processes and save paper along the way. With the advent of integrated vehicle connections and telematics, capturing this data has become more streamlined. At GEOTAB, we process millions of data points daily and refine this information into valuable insights for our clients. This helps them set and reach CO2 emission targets, adopt electric vehicles, and create more sustainable fleet strategies. Our tools not only foster a greener fleet but also build robust business cases promoting efficiency and environmental responsibility. Why don't you message me today and find out how we can support you in with your short, medium and long term fleet goals, globally, regionally and locally? #geotab #globalfleet #fleeteurope #sustainability
