The #cat and the bird fat balls I recently passed a supermarket and took this wonderful snapshot. 📸 It was an unusual sight for me at first! 👀 A cat in a basket with a price tag, outside a supermarket. From there she could not only enjoy a good view. 🔽🔽🔽 On closer inspection, I noticed that she was sitting in a box of bird fat balls. 🐦 As a #marketing guy, I immediately thought that the smart types also exist among cats: Birds, exactly my target group. What do birds like? Bird food. 🧆Where are all the birds? Outside. Its strategic location couldn't be better. What can we learn from this? In #business, it's all about knowing your target #audience and understanding their needs and habits. 🎯 Not always an easy job. This cat did it masterfully! 🐱📈

What is the most effective emotion in video? I gave a presentation last week at BNI Sunrise (North Lanarkshire) on how we create emotion in the video production process and the techniques we use to build emotion with a viewer. The most effective adverts are the ones that trigger an emotional response. We simply do not remember over 91% of adverts that we see. The reason? They are too corporate, bland and 'play it safe'. There is no emotional connection to an Ad or slamming the hard sell or a corporate video of a business telling us every single service they can offer us. Some of the best adverts and videos that I remember trigger my emotions. From IrnBru and their use of humour to John Lewis and their Christmas masterpieces, to my personal favourite being the Sainsburys Christmas Day 1914 advert. It makes me think of my family at Christmas and how we are all together. It also makes me think of how many of these young soldiers didn't get to see their families again.
