In my final year, rejection has become all too familiar. Big names like TCS, CTS, HCL, and Zoho have turned me down repeatedly—three times by TCS, two times by CTS, two times by HCL, and even two times by Zoho. It's a reality I've had to face. I realized I lacked skills, good communication, and problem-solving abilities. So, I decided to pause my job hunt and focus on learning. I worked on real projects and read a lot of books. Every day, I learned something new. I shared my journey on LinkedIn, showing videos of my projects. I connected with experts to understand how businesses work and what recruiters want. I kept asking myself, "Why would someone pick me?" This question pushed me to keep learning and improving. By sharing updates regularly, I started getting more job opportunities. I learned that rejection isn't the end. It's a chance to learn and grow. Life brings chances and challenges. When things don't go as planned, see them as lessons on your journey to success. Tata Consultancy Services has topped the LinkedIn's latest list of top companies to work for in India, followed by Accenture and Cognizant in the second and third place respectively. Professional networking platform LinkedIn on Tuesday released the 2024 Top Companies list for India wherein IT companies bagged the top three ranks, while financial services firms dominated the list with 9 out of 25 companies from this sector. End of a chapter…    I could not be more enthusiastic of my 20+ years journey at 4C/ Wipro, starting as a delivery consultant and project/program manager, as the point of contact for (prospective and existing) clients & partners in a commercial capacity and driving the growth & team as a leader & coach. From the initial idea to focus more on implementation & system integration services in #sales #marketing #service as part of #crm services going beyond our advice/consulting/transformation work, over moving into a Salesforce (and #Data - #AI) only Boutique firm winning deals and market share in Benelux and later on – via acquisitions - also in Europe, to become part of Wipro an Indian Power House (sharing 67% of its profit to causes for good) for the last 3.5+ years. Together with my partners in crime Johan Van Genechten and Pascal Borremans, it was an honor and giving an amazing feeling to facilitate the steep growth of the family since 2007, organically and via acquisition (France, Denmark, UKI & UAE) to become a major pan-European CRM player with proven track record in the Salesforce #ohana … but it felt even more rewarding to see during this journey individuals grow, becoming more mature and an expert in what they love to do.   It was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with so many talented people, to work with great customers in a vibrant ecosystem with partners and team members… I’m really proud of the results that we have realized together. Unfortunately LinkedIn does not provide me enough space to individually name all the great people I have met and want to thank. You know you are one of them. 🙏   I could have never imagined that we could empathize and resolve challenges of clients in some many industries within months, turn their risks and business threats into opportunities. .. And the last years be able to provide solutions to even more complex business challenges with integrated service lines delivered via a compelling model of on/near/off-shore capacity.   I had the opportunity to celebrate 1000+ projects for 150+ clients and support our teams in a multiplier of these numbers to win more client hearts resolving challenges. I want to express my sincere appreciation to all my colleagues and customers I have worked with, and the trust that I experienced during all these years.   My new chapter? Wipro bags a $500-million contract from US firm under new CEO 🤝 🖥 Indian IT major Wipro has secured a $500-million contract with a leading US communication service provider. This five-year deal represents the first major win under the leadership of new CEO Srini Pallia, signaling Wipro’s resurgence after falling behind its competitors. Wipro's stock surged by 5% on the news, reflecting market confidence in this significant achievement. According to an exchange filing, Wipro will deliver managed services for select products and industry-specific solutions, although further details have yet to be disclosed. CEO Srini Pallia, since taking over, has emphasized large deal growth as a core strategy. During the Q4 results announcement, Pallia stated, “We will focus on revitalizing the company by accelerating large deal growth, working closely with clients and partners, and strengthening relationships with large clients. We will also invest in accounts with the potential to grow into substantial partnerships.” In Q4FY24, Wipro’s total bookings stood at $3.6 billion, slightly down from $3.8 billion in the previous quarter. However, large deal bookings increased significantly to $1.2 billion, $0.9 billion higher than the quarter before. IT analyst Pareekh Jain, CEO at Pareekh Consulting and EIIRTrend, commented, “Wipro securing a large deal after a long hiatus is a positive sign for the new CEO. Large deals are crucial for growth, and this $500 million deal sets a positive momentum. Umang Solanki was aligned with one of our clients, which is a very challenging account, and there were multiple changes from the delivery and sales end until it was assigned to Umang in 2023. Umang took this as a challenge, an aim/goal for her that before 2023 ends, she will break this account with at least one hire, and she started working very dedicatedly with a focused approach. She got herself involved in research about the client. She positively took all the feedback and learnings and slowly established and built client relationships. There comes the last week of December 2023, the holiday season when almost everyone in the US is out of the office, but she still made sure to do those timely follow-ups and accomplished her aim by getting the hire and reviving the account; this account was revived after 1.5 years, which successfully started in January 2024. Umang's absolute willingness and persistence each day with the client with the delivery has helped us see a real turnaround on this account. All those well-written follow-ups to the client post-interviews have also helped build a great relationship to the extent that the MSPs on each monthly call tell us how much they love the partnership and proactiveness they see from Umang and Collabera. She is replicating this strategy in all of her accounts. Umang loves spending her weekends taking her eyes off the screen for at least a few hours a day and being in nature, like at the lakeside or in the garden. She describes the culture of Collabera in one word: 'Inclusive' - people across varying identities are and feel valued, welcomed, respected, included, represented, and heard and that they entirely belong, can be authentic, can contribute to the collective, and have a voice! To achieve work-life balance, she prioritizes tasks to balance her hectic schedule.
