iFixit pulls the Vision Pro apart, exposing its connectors, screens, and fans We’ve already found out a few hidden tidbits of Apple’s Vision Pro over the last week, like the revelation that it has not one, but two different kinds of Lightning-esque connectors. But now you can see so much more in iFixit’s first teardown video, offering some answers to questions like what contributes to its weight, and which parts could be very expensive to replace. https://lnkd.in/dZCc7RgQ

A solid review of Vision Pro, I recommend watching. From my own test, I can underline these statements - Passthrough is far ahead and sets the new standard - you feel it as real - Stellar tracking quality and stability (eye, hands, world) - Best in class visual quality (retina) All these ‚features‘ are enabler for new user experiences. But very important is the low friction to start using it - thanks to the seamless integration with your other devices (phone, macbook, etc) that no other platform has. Of course there are downsides, but not that they cannot be fixed over time, such as price, beta features in software and limited APIs. In a few years from now, people will tell this moment in history, as the the start of a new era in spatial computing. https://lnkd.in/dA5MjNGS

I am super curious to hear what think about Casey Neistat's realisation about the future of computing after walking around New York all day with the new Apple Vision Pro on. The interesting part starts at 4:01 into the video. #futureofcomputing #future

"So the idea of spatial computing, it doesn't make sense to me when I'm sitting in my office. I got multiple screens. But right now, I'm in the city, I'm in the middle of Times Square, I've got my virtual keyboard here, I've got Apple TV there, I've got YouTube, Safari *unintelligible* here, and it all kind of works. Like this? What I've got going on right now? This is wild. It's impossible for me to imagine that you can't see what I can see. Everything seems so real and then I can just stand up." https://lnkd.in/gpzXAszB Be really interested in #research that explains how this #spatialcomputing #interface is different from the #screen interfaces we keep in our pockets. I expect a whole bunch of #digitalspace and #digitalplace articles will be forthcoming soon. However... are these users not bothered by the lack of peripheral vision? I wonder if that's a concern or not. Credit to Vermont Lasmarias for tipping me off to this particular video. #virtualreality #augmentedreality

One of the clearest and best presented reviews I've seen of the #applevisionpro and Apple's first step into the XR ecosystem. This is a solid, unbiased, well-informed, and well-rounded review. But I don't think it starts to approach the idea of... "Why?" It has a couple of illustrations of the "what", but that elusive driving philosophy remains mysterious. The real questions of so-called #spatialcomputing, the lightbulb moments that immediately draw some people in, and leave others scratching their heads (or outright denouncing)—what really is the problem being solved, and for whom? I've got my own answers and ideas, which I hope to share when Erika Flowers and I can do an in-person deep dive on the human connection of XR. In the meantime, I've also got the best TV in the house thanks to my very expensive new toy.

Saw Marcus Brownlee’s review on the #AppleVisionPro and it's clear this tech is a game-changer. It's not just about what it does today, but how it's set to reshape our daily routines and the wider world. This is the future, happening right now. #InnovationInTech

Is the Apple Vision Pro the best headset yet, does it have features that we've never seen before, is it going to be the headset to bring 'spatial computing' to the masses? No, no, and NO! What it is doing is bringing the conversation to a much larger audience, beyond the gamers and tech nerds. Apple is making a big difference to the XR world just because of the strength of their brand. It's impressive, and because of this we get videos from people like Cleo who are thinking beyond the tech in their hands to what the tech can unlock. It's definitely more than I expected from Apple's entry into the XR world and is really interesting to observe. https://lnkd.in/enEMvXZ5
